Todd Walker snark?

I very rarely listen to the games on the radio anymore. I catch most of the home games live and now that we're pretty much irrelevant I barely even remember when our road games are. Tonight, however, I happened to be running some errands and heard a bit of the first half on the radio and Walker had a few comments that I found hilarious, and quite surprising.
One was Gomez losing a rebound out of bounds and he said something along the lines of "Gomez loses that battle for the board to kentplayerx, whose probably only about 5" shorter than him". Then a bit later he had a call along the lines of "Clarke with the ball, looks like he's going to shoot, and he does. Misses everything and he thinks he was fouled, he probably wasn't." He went on to (correctly) chastise Clarke for sometimes thinking he can just keep trying to score every possession rather than taking things in the flow.
I was just wondering if anybody listens more regularly than I do and if this was common for him? I thought it was hilarious and honest, but pretty surprising since he's the home team announcer. I kinda like that though...sorta reminded me of Harry Doyle with his tone.

Todd Walker does an excellent job on play by play. Very effective in both basketball and football. Honest and accurate. And praises when he should. For a play by play fellow, he does add a few nuggets as you describe now and then.
Go Falcons!

Yep. I listen all the time. He is the voice when we have home games and its on the MAC website. Its awesome. He is the perfect balance of voice, professional announcer with insight into the team and annoyed fan. Harry Doyle is a great example. Walker is great at being disgruntled fan.

I agree that I really do enjoy Todd's snarkiness. We you have a team as bad as we do, he doesn't try to sugarcoat things and make it look like rainbows and butterflies. I appreciate that.

I definitely agree, I appreciated it big time. For the past several years most of the fun from BG basketball has been laughing at their ineptitude. I only listened for 15-20 mins or so, and he got a few chuckles out of me, so that's all I can ask for.
Glad to hear that style. No point putting lipstick on the pig when everybody listening is already thinking of the bacon.

Todd is a very solid broadcaster. I want a guy who is pulling for BG, but he's got to be able to say when something is not right, and he does. Knows basketball really well.

I think Todd Walker does a very good job, and a big part of that in my opinion is because he does tell it like it is. I can't stand when commentators sugarcoat or are afraid to say anything that might be deemed negative. If you are watching a game and see the same thing they are seeing, when someone tries to cover that up by dancing around what they really want to say, I find it extremely annoying. Now I'm not saying someone should just be negative nonstop on the air, but I find it much more sincere and fulfilling to listen to someone who is calling the good, good and also calling the bad, bad. You can still be a professional by being honest, even if the honesty is a little harsh.

I wonder who the announcer will be next year?
