Heartbreak times three!!!

Our last three losses have all come on last-second shots: by two to Akron, one to Kent State, and two to Toledo. Talk about heartbreak! We saw football suffer three of its four losses by 3 points or less (3, 3 and 1) and while basketball isn't having the kind of season football did, the tough, close losses are piling up. SOB

Bad teams that have bad coaches don't tend to win close games most of the time.

"They" say good teams find ways to win, so I guess that explains that. Either that or God wants BG to lose like this which would sit just fine with coach Orr.

It's true good teams find ways to win, but it seems like BG always gets the raw end of the deal. There are plenty of other bad schools out there that don't find such incredible ways to lose.

Hence the Power of the Orr.

I think we will be able to make some noise in the MAC Tournament. Wouldn't be awesome to win it in football and basketball?
GO FALCONS!!

I believe you're going to need the women's basketball forum for that to be possible

It would be more than awesome, it would be unbelievable. And the fact that BG has never, ever won the MAC Tournament, that we'll likely be playing a first-round road game to try and just get to Cleveland, we'd then have to win four consecutive games once there (which is something we not only haven't done this entire season, but we haven't won four consecutive games at any point of an entire season in several years), we're playing essentially 6 guys and we have Louis Orr leading this team - it would not only be unbelievable, it is IMPOSSIBLE. We haven't been the NCAA Tournament in 46 years, it's just not going to happen. I am thrilled football won the MAC Championship and very happy baseball did it too, but no way is BG basketball doing it, unless we're talking women's basketball.

Obviously I don't think we're good enough to win 4 games in a row under any circumstances, but possibly more than anything our lack of healthy players (thanks, in large part, due to sitting on schollies) pretty much guarantees we have no shot at all in a tournament setting. I just don't see anyway that you can win 3 games in consecutive days by playing 6-7 guys...

Make it heartbreak times four! BG's last four losses have all been by one score. This one was one-point game with under a minute to go. Incredible....

Hamm, it would actually take 5 wins in 6 days to win the championship.

Well I can pretty much agree that's not happening.
And can I say that I LOVE what the MAC has done to their conference tournament? Anything that gives a bigger advantage to winning your division/conference is a great thing, IMO. Adds emphasis on the regular season in a big way.
For anyone who hasn't been (I stopped going when BG stopped going), watching the entire tournament in Cleveland is a great experience. I like the Q and it's fun to just spend several days in downtown Cleveland (walking distance to some amazing bars, restaurants, and a casino) and watch MAC hoops. If BG ever gets to the point where they have a reasonable shot of advancing again I'll probably go back to checking out the entire tournament weekend.
