What do they do on offense and defense? Zone, full court press? What's the system like.

Primarily man, but did mix in zone against UK when foul trouble hit PG Van Vleet. I would argue that's the mix for 80-90% of NCAA teams. Coaches typically prefer man defense.

On offense they were super organized. They run a variety of sets but primarily is based off traditional motion and dribble drive principles. The part that has made Wichita so difficult to handle the last two years specifically is they have four guys on the court with "guard" skills. Van Vleet is as good as there is at the point. Baker and Cotton, while great spot up shooters, are able to use the bounce to get to the hole and both did against length and athleticism of UK. Cle'Anthony Early is probably a top 15 pick in June at 6-8 but for stretches of the second half single handedly kept Wichita close. They have very physical big men with emerging offensive games. The bigs rebound well but were not polished offensively. Few are at any level though. They bring three to four others off the bench who were able to play multiple positions with little to no drop off. Very versatile group.

If you haven't found the post in the Coach Jans thread from the Wichita message board. Complete class and nothing but glowing reviews and well wishes to BGSU and Coach Jans.

They used a motto of "play angry" which Coach Marshall said everyone took something different out of but what he thought it meant was to get to that loose ball a little quicker, to want to rebound a little more than your opponent, to stay in defensive stance for an entire possession. These are all concepts we haven't seen since the Morgantown meltdown.

Its been used by several organizations since but Woody Hayes, among many others, built an organization around "you win with people"

Folks, I've never met Mr Kingston, Coach Jans or Coach Babers, but I have met a few "Olympic sport" coaches and have well connected family that has met all three and we are winning with our recent hires in hockey, football, women's basketball and now men's hoops (additional sports too :)) because of Mr Kingston and the quality people he has brought to us. Lastly to borrow a line from my UM fan friends "Its a great day to be a Bowling Green Falcon"

Awesome thanks.

it will be interesting to see what we do on offense. We have a handful of guys who can play pg but shouldn't be the primary point, so if we get one of those this offseason that would be fantastic for what you describe.
