Serious ankle injury knocked him out all year
I cant find any tape.
He apparently just did a showcase on the 20th and then we offered. I believe he is number 32 in any videos we may see of Gahana in 2013-2014 but I can't seem to track one down. A recruiting reported indicted that he improved drastically over the summer.

Khalil Iverson was rumored to have received a Penn St offer a few weeks back

Chauncey and Gomez are fourth year juniors meaning if they complete their degrees they would be eligible to play a fifth year elsewhere and/or Coach Jans would have the option to non-renew their deals as well

My take: Jans will tend more towards having the best players on the floor rather than starting guys according to how well they fit a particular mold. So, I certainly wouldn't expect to Gomez to emerge from the bottom of the depth chart, even if it means our tallest starter is 6-7 or 6-8.

Also, according to what is written and by what Jans has said, we should expect Dickerson to start immediately and perhaps be our #1 option.

Wow, that's awesome. Where did you see that?

Seems like a stretch. Might fill the Cleanthony Early spot?
"Dickerson posted 11.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season, while shooting over 47 percent from the field and 39 percent behind the three-point line. In conference play, the sophomore bumped his scoring average up to 12.2 points per game."

24/7 reports an offer to North Idaho College PG Austin Pope, 6'6" good vertical. Only two offers thus far--BG and Okie State. Apparently he has bounced around. Shows a year at Saddlebrook College without playing ball; last year at Cerritos College averaging 7.4 ppg, and now at North Idaho. Hard to believe we would want another JUCO PG with all the players that can play that position right now. Here's the link: http://247sports.com/Player/Austin-Pope-25930" target="_blank

Austin Pope, 3-star JUCO point guard from North Idaho College relays to 247Sports that he has been offered by Oklahoma State and Bowling Green.
Pope is a lanky point guard at 6-foot-6, 185 pounds. The 247Sports Composite considers him to be the No. 2 JUCO player in the 2015 class and the No. 1 JUCO point guard.
"They're coaching staff seems really energetic and excited about me," Pope said of Oklahoma State. Bowling Green and Oklahoma State are Pope's first two offers.

Nailed it Fred!

I listened to the two latest Jans interviews and he describes Dickerson as a stretch four so maybe for 2014 something like...

1 Joseph 3 - Austin 3 - Lyshe (w) 4
2 Henderson 4 - Clarke 4 - Denny 1/2 - Fox (w) 1
3 Orr 3 - Tisdale 2 - Busuttil (w) 3
4 Parker 3 - Dickerson 3 - Mayleben 1
5 Holmes 4 - Worrell 1 - Gomez 3

Also, Busuttil is the only other walk-on returning with Lyshe. Matt Fox a new walk-on.

In the end we are essentially adding 5-7 guys to our rotation and losing just one. This year should be very interesting.

You and I have polar opposite views on the prospects for Chauncey Orr. I see Orr as a borderline D1 athlete that can barely survive on decent shooting and good smarts. Now that his father isn't here, and our new coach is filling out our roster with athletes, I see no reason to expect Orr to play more than 5-8 minutes per game.

We will start 3 forwards:
Dickerson,
Parker,
Holmes

...and I'm seeing Worrell and Maybelen being our depth in the backcourt. (I'm betting that Gomez's lack of ruggedness and poor defense will mean not seeing much playing time under Jans).

As for our starting guards, it's wide open. Clarke and Henderson have plenty of ability, but still have a lot to learn about playing the game (especially Clarke). Tisdale also has lots of ability but brings some absurdly quirky shooting. Hopefully, he'll grow out of that.

I could be wrong, but it will certainly be a lot of fun watching this team grow.

I'll be surprised if Jans keeps going hard at JC kids. Sooner or later we have to start bringing in true frosh to build a foundation for the program, supplemented of course by SOME JC's.

I believe coach Jans also mentioned liking a two point guard system.

I'm pretty pumped about my 3 favorite BG sports, FB, BB and Hockey. All seem on the upswing or in BB's case, on the verge of beginning an upswing.

He did. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Joseph and Austin start.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Dickerson started as well with Austin, Joseph, Parker and Holmes. Could definitely be the case.

As far as Orr goes he is a solid glue guy who helps everyone on the floor by doing all the right things. I think he will fit in very nicely at the 3. He has to give you more than Mayleben at this point. If what you say is correct about Dickerson (Which he only averaged 12 a game at JC, but it was in 17mpg and he led his team) then he could definitely start. My guess is at the 4. Parker will start at the 3 and backup the 4. We are thinnest in the paint no matter how you swing it.

1 Austin 3 - Clarke 4 - Lyshe (w) 4
2 Joseph 3 - Henderson 4 - Denny 1/2 - Fox (w) 1
3 Parker 3 - Orr 3 - Tisdale 2 - Busuttil (w) 3
4 Dickerson 3 - Mayleben 1
5 Holmes 4 - Worrell 1 - Gomez 3

It could be a scenario where one of Austin and Joseph is always on the floor at the point and often they are out there together. It will certainly be exciting to watch where the chips fall. I think Orr is certainly amongst the top 9 players on the team.

Trying to fit the pieces in a traditional lineup is tricky for sure. I really like Holmes at the 4 because he seems to get a ton of blocks on help switches. He's quick and smart and that role is perfect for him. Not that he isn't a good straight up defender. I hope Gomez or Mayleben step up enough to start at center, but I'm not sure that will happen. I agree it probably will end up being Holmes.

No matter who starts, I'm looking forward to seeing a rotation of Holmes, Worrell (who I see as being in much the same mold as Holmes), and Dickerson or Parker out there together. That should be the most athletic front line we've seen in awhile.

I have no specific expectations as far as record this year, but it looks like the team could be immediately fun to watch again. Biggest question mark for me is who steps it up at PG to run the show.
