LaMonta Stone and Dennis Hopson

Have both landed HS gigs in Michigan. Stone will return to River Rouge HS (and he's taking his son with him) where he previously coached and Hopson will slink accross the border to take over the reigns for the Bedford Kickin' Mules (the school that sent BGSU one Tara Breske....possibly the best female athlete..in terms of speed, strength etc.. I've seen here. We win that deal)

Lori Albers and Megan McGuire might get in that discussion! ;-)

Does this mean LaMonta Stone's little son will not be playing for BGHS anymore? He was a bright spot on a mediocre Bobcat team.

fact, Lori Albers- healthy- wins every discussion in the best combo female athlete category. I agree; you are right on. Megan McG also right there in the number 1a slot. But Albers- when right which was one and a half seasons out of high school basically- was unreal. Talking WNBA wing span and huge hands with strength, farm girl toughness and long stride runner. Breske was super too. The strength component especially. Too bad she also had the injury issue.

Go Falcons!

Breske was an explosive athlete...quick off the floor with a great vertical(I think he should grab the rim at 6-0 even with the knee issues) to go along with the strength...probably wouldn't have landed here with two good knees though.

Yep. His son went with him to Michigan.

Interesting to note that the article indicates Bedford's AD as Mark German. German (pronounce like the GPS Garmin) was an All State Basketball player at Bronson, MI in the mid-80's who went on as a 4 year letterman for Toledo finishing his career in 1988 as one of the two team captains.

Breske was the strongest female athlete I've seen at BG in a long time....along with Brooke P.

Is it possible that Hopson resigned due to the 'inappropriate and lewd behavior' and pending court issues that were ongoing from issues from this summer'.

Out of the blue the Prosecutor decided to drop all charges and then the next day Hopson resigns. Interesting in the timing. Maybe he didn't like what was going on at Bedford. Maybe he was good friends with the football coach. Regardless wish him nothing but the best

My daughter is a first year student at Bedford Jr HS. So far, I've been really impressed by everyone we've come in contact with in the system. The prosecutor didn't pursue charges in the hazing incident primarily because no one wanted to press the matter...none of the alleged victims were interested in pressing charges and the school handed out whatever sanctions they were going to hand out to the coaches. Although...given the on field performance of the football team, it wouldn't surprise me to see changes made there after the season ends. The "best interests of the students" portion of his statement is a little disquieting.

whatever the case...i hope Dennis is able to find happiness in Toledo...it's a million to one shot for anyone to find happiness in Toilet town, but you never know
