Love watching video of this kid. Think he has a lot of Anthony Stacey, Nate Miller traits in the body of a 2-3 instead of a 3-4.
Welcome to the Cast (I had to look that up

)

Hes got nice range, great body control, solid athleticism even if he isn't an explosive athlete. Seems like the kind of guy who will make everyone around him better. He'll probably play the 2 and 3.

Nice first step...gets square and releases quickly on jump shot...catches and shoots well. He's an ideal SG. He'd be overmatched physically trying to play SF for an extended period and you shouldn't ask him to. He'll give us something we haven't had in years...a legitimate SG that can stretch the defense and get to the basket when the opportunity is there.

I think he looks pretty girthy for his height. He looks like he could bang a bit. Maybe it's the braids making him look bigger

Imagine him at the 2 next to Joseph with Parker and Dickerson and whomever. Those 4 seem like bangers. Guys the offense won't want to mess with.

I'm excited about they players Jans has been able to sign this year and the ones he's going after for next year. I have no "expectations" for the upcoming season as far as wins and losses, but I think we'll see a big improvement right away in year one. That's the nice thing about basketball. A coach and a couple of new faces can make a big impact immediately.

Having Richaun Holmes and Spencer Parker back and tons more talent I expect us to be in contention for the MAC title.

It's not at all unreasonable to think they could be at or near the top of the conference this year. I'm just choosing to "temper my expectations" based on other recent events

Maybe Jans will tell Richaun Holmes to stop blocking shots on defense.

And you know the first time through the MAC East some squads are going to say, "Oh, it's only Bowling Green." and we can steal some wins from those teams.

Andrews had visits lined up to Albany and Washington State before committing. Beating Pac-12 programs for recruits means we're recruiting the right type of players.

Andrews has a beautiful stroke. Decent D1 athleticism and seems to see the floor well.
I think what really differentiates this kid is his toughness. He has upper body strength. He can play in traffic and shoot under pressure.
Erik Crawford is a far better comparison than Anthony Stacey or Nate Miller.

Crawford didn't score at all here and was a defensive stopper. I agree with your first two sentences but there is very little in those videos that shows he is a defensive stopper. He may be but that's projecting based on his toughness.
Crawford had what seems like much better lateral quickness.

Of course, in these YouTube highlight videos, you aren't going to see many clips of the kids playing defense.
Not that anyone necessarily gives a rip, but Crawford's lack of scoring was due to him being a freshman in a Dakich System. He was actually a pretty good shooter.

He averaged double figures for Northern Iowa so I don't doubt you.
I compare Stacey and Miller because this guy seems like on of those non elite athlete types who just has such great intelligence and body control that he can score in bunches. I love having thsi type of guy, Especiallly if you surround him with athletes. I hope he is a lock down defender. That would be great.
