Surprising starting lineup for tomorrow?

I was rather surprised at the starting lineup that Coach Jans listed for tomorrow, but agree with his statement that it is more important who finishes than who starts.
Here it is:
Pep.........pg
Henderson.....2
Denny........3
Parker........4
Holmes.......5
Anyone else sort of surprised?

Yes...I'm a bit surprised he has a three guard starting line up and Parker at the 4....I guess Jans and Globe agree on that one.

Really surprised to see Denny in there, but elated to be honest. He will stretch the floor. In the preview videos it looked like he was out there with the 1st team but I assumed it was a rotational thing. It might be a product of us not having much inside depth more than anything else.

If Denny is the shooter he was advertised as I want him playing 25 minutes a night if for no other reason than we don't really have any other outside shooters on the team. We need SOMEBODY that is at least a threat out there to open up the floor.
I still see Parker as more of a 3, but whatever. I've always said positions are irrelevant in college hoops...get your best 5 on the floor.

Parkers strong and scores in the paint and in traffic a ton.

In the video Jans said we have a ten or an eleven man rotation

With Dickerson, Orr, and Tisdale lending themselves to the three spot, this naturally nudges Parker towards the 4 spot. If we're starting three guards, Parker's role as a 4 becomes even more important. He CAN get off the floor and get rebounds, and he's never been a particularly good decision maker with the ball.

I'm attending the exhibition today because it's an excellent chance to see all the players in action at some point. I'm eager to see the newcomers and to see how guys like Maybelen and Gomez have progressed. Also, I'm wondering if Busutill will be competing for a spot in the rotation. Finally, I'm really hoping to see a solidified Tisdale. He's a superior athlete but was an unusually flaky freshman last year.

I'm going to the exhibition as well. I can't make the opener since it's the same day as the UT football game, so this is my only chance to see the team for awhile.
Always tough to learn anything about the team in these exhibition games, but I like to hear the squeaking sneakers for the first time

Your position is often more determined about who you guard.

Which two or three do you think are not in the rotation? I'm guessing three bigs. Which leaves us really thin.

A lot can change from now to the first game or even the non-conference to the conference season but I like it. The Wichita posters can correct this if it's wrong but I believe they played a 3 guard lineup last year a bunch as well. 11 deep? That's huge too.
