BG v OU

Post by Globetrotter »

OU is 5-7 which is surprising. Definitely not what I expected. 3-6 over the last 9 games. They lost to N Illinois by 10 in their MAC opener in which only 7 players played.

1. Willis (3) 5-11 172 SR Guard (11 games, 11 starts) 15.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.5apg
2. R Taylor (14) 6-5 187 FR Guard (11 games, 10 starts) 10.4ppg, 2,8rpg
3. Lester (24) 6-4 180 FR Guard (12 games, 7 starts) 5.1ppg, 2.3rpg
4. Ndour (5) 6-9 200 SR Forward (12 games, 12 starts) 14.9ppg, 8.4rpg, 2bpg
5. Campbell (33) 6-8 260 SO Forward (12 games, 7 starts) 10.4ppg, 7.5rpg

Bench
Setty (0) 6-8 194 JR Forward (11 games, 2 starts) 5.8ppg, 4.2rpg
S Taylor (22) 5-10 174 SR Guard (12 games, 6 starts) 5.5ppg, 2.3rpg 2apg
Harley (11) 6-8 175 FR Guard/Forward (7 games, 0 starts) 2.3ppg
Mompremier (4) 6-10 225 SO Guard (11 games, 5 starts) 2.1ppg

Their record doesn't reflect the talent on their roster. Ndour is a MAC Player of the Year candidate. I feel it has as much to do with their head coach (also new like ours) finding what players and rotations work best. The loss to NIU was surprising but let's not kid ourselves, come the MAC Tournament they will be a force to deal with. They always are. They could really pose problems today with their size up front in Ndour and Campbell. Obviously Holmes will match up with one of them but not sure who guards the other one. OU had all kinds of trouble winning in Anderson Arena but has found success in the Stroh Center where they have won the last two. We can't let that become three.

Clarke isn't dressed and is in a walking boot. Tough blow there as he's our second-leading scorer and has been giving us great points off the bench.

Seriously...something needs to be done about concessions.

When I was there for the game concessions seemed fine. I never told this story though. There was a women about 6 rows up clearly in medical distress. Her husband or an usher was screaming for help and other people looked clueless about what to do. Help eventually came but it took way longer then I would have expected and it looked very disorganized.

BG running OU outta the Stroh....59-41 with 7 min left. Hold this lead and the Akron game will be BiG Wed at the JAR. And we owe them BiG time.

Coach Jans and his staff are getting the message through crystal clear.

Up 18...big question is can we maintain this level of play for the remainder of the game?

BG is totally in control of this one. Bench in at the 6 minute mark. Always good to get the bench big minutes.

Awesome. We give up, on average, 58 pts a game. D is very solid...21 pt lead.

I am a believer and think we can beat anyone in the league. Damn this is fun...

Yep, as long as we get rid of those scoring droughts, which we did this game.

This could be the beginning of a greater role for Matt Fox. He came in before Tisdale, scored 6 points and had 4 rebounds in 11 minutes.

Holmes is a stud. 18pts, 12boards, 5blocks
