BG vs. Toledo Manual Training School

Post by AZZZZ »

Wonder why this game isn't being picked up by BCSN/ESPN3?

I don't see a line out yet but I'm guessing it will be close to a pick 'em.

Toledo will be a small favorite. Is this the most anticipated BG game in 10 years? I mean outside the Michigan St home game that was winnable with a real coach.

I expect Toledo to open at about a 4-point favorite and I don't see BG coming out of Savage with a win in this one.

33 I'd take us getting 4 in this one. I know Bancroft U wants to get back on track and the Juice may be loose but if we spread the scoring around like last night I think we have a good chance.

When I get to my office I want to see our shooting % in bigger venues. WKU, UD, JAR, etc.

Have to say Toledo does provide REAL college fan base and atmosphere.

The only way we're getting a real fan base and atmosphere at the Stroh is if we put an ice sheet in it.

It doesn't take much critical thought to realize we just had it ten years ago.

Exactly.

Toledo has been trending to very good for several years. Prior to that they had no atmosphere or fans either.

In '02 we were coming off several MAC POY type seasons, a recent top 5 lottery pick, and 20 win seasons were the norm. The fans packed Anderson to the tune of several sellouts and a great atmosphere every game. I'd love all of that to just come back now that we're finally competitive again, but it's going to take more than 12 wins to restore what Dan v2.0 and Louis destroyed for the past decade.

It'll come back if we keep playing this way for the rest of this year, next year, and the year after. That's just the nature of sports fans, it doesn't just magically come back when it's been gone for 13 years...

Yes, I
It would be nice to win at a .700 clip in some sport over a long period of time. Hard to do with coaches coming and going...

It would also be nice to get UT at home for a one-and-done game for a change too. Three out of the last four meetinngs have now been at Toledo. UT had the only game at home this year, we both hosted a game last year in a home-and-home series, but UT also hosted the lone game the year before that too. WTH? The MAC had better give BG the home game next damn year.

Well I was wrong...hate losing to that "school". I, too, am sick of playing them once a year most seasons. But yet we play Ball St and NIU twice this year. Whatever.
