BG's lost 4 of last 5 at home, including 3 in a row

Post by BGSU33 »

BG has lost 4 of its last 5 games at home (two by a single point), and has dropped 3 in a row at the Stroh. We now officially have a home-court "disadvantage." Teams come into the Stroh shooting like it's their own home floor. And there's now a good chance we could have to host in the Stroh in the first round with this loss and a very possible loss to UB on Friday. Can we move the game to Anderson Arena???

Just think ... before Coach Jans came around, we'd be playing with the hope of first tournament game at home. How things have changed in a short year. Just wait until the coaching staff puts together their own full recruiting classes. Big things are on the horizon.

Maybe in the meantime we can work on a home court advantage. The only advantages at home are the opposition has to shoot into a funny picture on the video board and our team knows the facility. Every run we had tonight was soaked with a wet towel by the arena atmosphere. Might be the least intimidating environment in the MAC.

Sorry, maybe I'm just a little bitter over another heart breaker at home.

Why not move it to the other team's gym? BG seems to now have a road court advantage, by that reasoning.

Works for me. BG is 5-0 in its last 5 on the road but just 1-4 in its last 5 at home. Go figure.

Another pathetic student section. I'm not sure it will ever change.

Could the admissions office take "willingness to attend sporting events of winning teams" into account during the applicaton process?

Ya, the Falcon Fanatics are rolling about 30 strong these days. Again, Louis Orr snooze ball got as good of student support. BRUTAL.

Student support does not change overnight. With the student section at football games and the increasing profile of the basketball team, student support will increase.

Falcon Turf, You want to witness a pathetic in game experience and apathetic fans visit Millet Hall in Oxford. I went down for the game last Saturday and it was terrible. I understand your frustration and I share it.

I too am frustrated with the lack of support that this team has received from students and the general paying public, but Mr. Apathetic himself Louis Orr dug this program in such a deep hole that coach Jans cannot get it out of that hole in one season.

I actually commented to my wife several times last night that I thought the music, the public address announcer reminding people to get up and get loud and the visual cues to do such were all very good. I also felt as if those in attendance did a great job of trying to create noise and distractions for Kent at the appropriate times.

I just keep saying., "imagine when nearly 5,000 fans are in that arena-it will be an amazing home court advantage." Just last night there were times when play was halted that the rock music and the pep band music made for a very loud environment. I think at this point in the program's resurgence we are getting an atmosphere about as good as we can expect. I don't think it's for a lack of trying on the part of those in charge of creating the atmosphere in the Stroh Center; I think it's just going to be a while before we get fans back on board.
