BG at SFU in the CIT, can we end 40-year postseason drought?

BG hasn't won a postseason game in 40 years, not since 1975 when BG beat Tennessee 67-58 in the National Commissioner's Invitational which was held in Louisville, KY. BG played in the CIT three years ago losing at Oakland 86-69 in 2012.

Getting a single win in this thing would be a silver lining for the season. It would at least be something to hang our hat on all things considered.

BG at St. Francis (PA) on Tuesday at 7:00 PM

I wonder how SFU got to host this game over BG? Is this one of the tournaments you bid to host games? I can't remember if it's that way for the CIT or CBI or both. I know it is for at least one of them. Because if so, being we haven't won a postseason game in 40 years, this seems like exactly the kind of thing BG should do for at least one game. Then again, the way we've been playing at home compared to on the rad, maybe this is better off. SFU is 16-15 overall but is 10-2 at home. Their only two home losses came by 1 point and another in OT. Their gym is very small, sort of like Anderson Arena without the seating behind the baskets. The bleachers retract on the upper and lower levels court side with walls behind the baskets like Anderson Arena's north wall, but with more space between the walls and baskets.

I hang my hat on the fact that we have some great SR's who got behind a new coach and worked their butts off to get to 20 wins...and they did all that while keeping their noses clean...didn't lose any one to academics...didn't lose anyone to disciplinary issues.

Well done!!!

Great job by Jans, staff and players this year. 20-11 as opposed to 12-20? Not too shabby for Year 1 of Jans. I hope we win the CIT!

I'll take just a single win, just one. Let's break the 40-year drought and anything more would be gravy.

I totally agree Jans has done a great job, however, I am totally against these extra tournaments. If you aren't good enough for the NCAA or NIT, you should be done. Just a complete waste of money. The NIT really shouldn't be around anymore either, but People need something to watch on Monday and Tuesday night. It's either that or watch the women's tournament (which is pointless because the 1 seeds almost always coast through anyway).

I'm not a big fan of them much either, but anything BG is in will have my attention for at least that game. I'm just happy we're still going.

I agree
Is the team taking a bus to PA? If I was a player, I would not want any part of another bus ride 600 miles round trip. UNLESS I thought we had a chance to win the tourney. But already we are on the road. After a long season, playing in one of these lesser tournaments doesn't seem like a great thing. I know there are some positives, but it is tough falling short - yet again.

OHSAA Regional tournament for division 2,3, and 4 are being held at the Stroh this week. I would imagine that is why we aren't hosting.

Thanks for the info, that would certainly explain why. Hopefully we can win a game or two and maybe put in a bid down the stretch. But I just want at least one win. Just one...

BG is -4.5 points vs SFU
