JUCO SG/SF commit Jamir Andrews opens up his recruitment

Hasn't he signed a LOI? Wouldn't he need BG to release him ? That said, I can't blame any of the kids for trying, considering the " non-coach" situation right now. Noticed that Buff. Didn't take much time, though they had to know things were possible re: Hurley, unlike the surprise Jans dropped on BG.

Recruits have until May 18 to sign. I don't understand what is taking so long for anything to happen.

Mr.Kingston needs to pull the trigger and hire Mark Downey! We lose Jamir if we don't keep coach Downey and we lose Worrell is my guess too because he to was a Downey recuit.

This program will have some major struggles if we have to go replace several recruits and lose a few returning players.

Just reading falconblog, he indicates that Andrews HAS signed a LOI, so BG must've released him if he can open his recruiting again.

Jamir has been given permission from BG to open contacts with other schools....not released per se.... hope is that when a new coach is named, he'll have a chance to talk with Jamir and the other players,, both current and incoming to explain his goals etc. If this kid is as good as indicated, he'll probably get an offer from someone...then BG will have to respond some way. NEW recruit signing opens on Wednesday....it'd be nice if we had a new guy in place to possibly pick up another good player....and... keep Andrews?

So this was on twitter Monday...Jamir Andrews says he has been released from his letter of intent at BGSU and is looking for a new home. This is the first confirmed player-based fall out from the Chris Jans situation. Others have been rumored and speculated on, but is the only one that has any kind of confirmation.

This is pretty terrible news considering he flew all the way out there to try to convince him to come to BG. That's not a good first attempt.

I live in Dublin (CA) and saw Jamir play high school ball and was looking forward to him playing for the Falcons. I was ready write up some positive postings about his talents. I thought he would weather the storm and stick with BG but it looks like he has moved on. Bummer.

Jamir Andrews has committed to Albany
