BG vs Kent State

Post by BGSU33 »

It doesn't get any easier here after a tough loss. Kent State stands in first place and is loaded players who can flat out score. They won't hesitate to launch from the perimeter and Hall is the beast in the paint. The MAC season is still young but we've struggled in our conference home games and this one is going to be another big test.

BG cannot afford to lose its third consecutive home game here. There's also likely to be another good crowd on hand here with this bring the "Centennial Game" and BG has already lost to both Toledo and Cincinnati with 3,000-plus in attendance. Gotta start giving the people a win when they turn out like that.

Cincinnati and UT have drawn over 3,000, however the hockey game last night had over 3500.

Hockey was $1 night and the UT basketball game had "premium" pricing. Makes a big difference to a lot of people.

That was my point. Until we get this program back on top maybe we need to offer them $1 days. Get the fans to come to the games. Get butts in the seats. Get them interested in Falcon basketball. We were bad for so long people have lost so much interest in the program. $1 tickets. $1 hit dogs etc. Give some type of perks to the season ticket holders. Making $5 a person is better than making zero dollars.

BG is a 2.5-point home dog to KSU.

$1 tickets has ruined attendance in my opinion. You have people that believe the event is only worth a dollar. $5 is as low as they should go. $6 for adult tickets at HS games in the area and to go $1 lower than that is a great bargain for holiday break games and odd night game such as Thursday hockey.

Agree on the $5 ticket. $1 for the concessions is about right! :D

Is anyone else less than thrilled with these "double header" days? I'm a men's season ticket holder in the Anderson Club and if I was interested in women's basketball I would choose to attend those games. I'm not. I make evening plans based upon a 4:00-6:00 time slot. When they run a game that starts at 2:00, it runs over and delays the start of game 2 by usually no less than a 1/2 hour. The parking is also normally more problematic. If they do want to run them then a start time for game 1 three hours ahead of game 2 would give time to clear fans from game 1 before game 2 fans arrive. I know I sound like "that guy" but I just attend men's games and they always appear to me as two distinct fan bases.

1984,
FWIW , I personnally looked forward to these double headers.... Either that or a combo w/ hockey. Unfortunately, due to some injuries, we haven't made it back to BG this year. Hoping to get to Akron and/or Kent to see men's and women's games. We do like to see BOTH teams play as a 5 hr round trip makes that more worthwhile for us.

100% with ya man. Contemplated skipping tonight's men's game because I have a party to attend that starts at 6:30 and I know the mens game won't be over before then because of the stupid double header.

Can't stand women's "basketball" and I think this is just a ploy to trick us into watching it.

Is that like Browns "football"?

Hammb, those women would run circles around your ass on the court but I get it. If it ain't your thing, cool. lol. But considering 80% of the banners hanging in our barn are women's... :-D

And this one will pretty much end on time since BG is up 20 with 9 min left.

I would bet we could get 5 people on here and could beat the Women's basketball team.

Even though our women's program has been down past 2 years those girls would still take most of us on this board to school. As Freak said, 80% of the banners hanging in the Stroh was from our women's program.
