I was wondering if anyone knew who does the game recaps on BGSUFALCONS.COM. I have noticed all season that the mens game summary is like maybe at best 4 paragraphs and takes a whole 30 seconds to read, whereas the womens writeup is about 4 pages long and takes about 10 minutes to read.
The women's game summary is always OUTSTANDING!!! Great job to whoever does them. Whereas the men's review pretty much stinks. I think I could write a better game summary.
Any thoughts???

I wrote J.D. Campbell last season sending compliments to whoever does the women's recaps -- they are so well-written, thorough, and creative. He sent me the name of the person who writes them, but it's on my computer back at home. I'll try and pull it up when I get back.
Unfortunately, they usually just pull whatever the AP runs on the wire for the men's recaps. And those are probably done by some intern in New York summarizing the box score.

I just think whoever writes the summary for the womens game should be given their props. I really enjoy reading their summaries. As far as the mens summaries, i am always dissapointed. I go to the games so I know what I saw, but for those who did not make the game the summaries really dont describe how the game was played.

If the write-ups are down internally by a member of the BG staff, the women's are likely done by Assistant SID, Mike Cihon. Mike has been at BG for a long time and does a great job. I am not sure which sports he now covers, but he used to primarily cover women's b-ball, volleyball and hockey.
GO BG! Omar for '05 Heisman!
The men's recaps are taken right off the AP wire, though you can usually "fill in the gaps" by reading the "Notes" and "Quotes" pages that's linked above the article. The women's recaps are probably longer because there is no AP release, so to get the information out they have to use someone writing it from inside the program, that's why its longer.
