BG vs Ohio

Talk about two teams headed in massively different directions. BG has lost 9 of its last 10, has lost 7 consecutive games, has lost 6 straight home games and is a half game out of dead last in the MAC. OU has won 7 of its last 8, has won 5 consecutive games, has won 3 straight road games and is a half game out of first place in the MAC. This is a matchup of the worst team in the MAC in BG taking on the best in the MAC in OU. A few weeks ago I would have said Akron was the best, but the Zips are on a multiple-game skid and no one is playing better than OU right now. We've found so many ways to lose games during this steak that I don't even remember what a win feels like anymore. I can't wait for this season to finally be over. And judging by our performances, our players and coaches feel the same.

Still stand by my prediction a few weeks ago. BG will win this game. Just as Akron is our nemesis BG finds a way to beat OU. BG 78 OU 71
And son, you must had difficulties in math. OU is ONE game out of first. BG is ONE game out of last. Every team has played 14 games. 10-4 and 9-5 is 1 game. Just as 4-10 and 3-11. A half game lead would be 10-5 and 9-5 where one team played 15 games and the other played 14. I still believe BG will hold onto the #11 seed not that it really matters.

I understand the full game/half game scenario, but since the MAC has added the Friday night game, teams are a half game ahead/out come Saturday. But yes, come Sunday, it again becomes a full game. Be that as it may, half game, full game, these two couldn't be more complete opposites right now.

OU has won several of those games in Athens in front of 6-7 thousand fans -- that helps in close games.

OU's win at Toledo jump started the run they are on, whereas BG's loss to Toledo started this seemingly never ending downward spiral that we're slowly drowning in.

I watched that OU win at Toledo. Toledo went low to Boothe three times in the closing moments and OUs Antonio Campbell stopped him cold on each attempt - it was impressive.

I saw the game too. Ohio was destroying Toledo then withstood a late rally for the win. As you said, Campbell thwarted any attempt of hero by UT's big boy at the end. Campbell has had some monster games this year. He has the ability to both dominate the paint and yet can also step outside and drain the three. He's a MAC Player of the Year candidate, is very versatile and he's still only a junior.

Every week these announcers say 'Great crowd on hand. You can expect that from the Falcon Faithful'. We are averaging about 1800 per game in a 4800 seat arena. That's less than 40% full. I don't think many would call that a great crowd.

The way this team plays I don't know how you could expect more... I'd say we're very falcon faithful (and borderline stupid) to keep showing up...
Oh and Gomez is apparently gone, which is great. And the reason for the lineup was academics... Which is not great...

Well it's a single possession game at the half.
In other scores, Buffalo beating Kent pretty good and Miami beating Akron.

Campbell with 19 points at the half on 8-9 shooting including 3-3 from three. Despite falling behind 9-0 from the start BG only down by 1 at the break. BG could have the lead if we didn't miss a follow up dunk shortly before the end of the half.
