"Pay heed all who enter: Beware of The Phog!"

This might just be the coolest banner in all of college sports! The "Phog Banner" hangs high above the playing floor of Allen Fieldhouse at the University of Kansas. As you enter the court from the tunnel, it reads: "Pay heed all who enter: Beware of The Phog!" What a catchy phrase and tribute to Phog Allen! As if just stepping foot into that place isn't enough excitement and an adrenaline rush for gameday, seeing that banner and hearing over 16,000 plus chant "Rock Chalk Jayhawk".....that's one of the many things that's great about college hoops!

That is a GREAT chant and an amazing arena. Rock Chalk and Ay Ziggy are the two best college chants/cheers/songs EVA.

I had a professor my Senior year who gave us extra credit points for every win that Kansas had in the NCAA tourney that season. From that point forward I've followed the Jayhawks, and made them my favorite "big school" team.

I agree that the banner is sweet, and I love the Rock Chalk Jayhawk :) They've got one heckuva team over there this year too :)

Not sure who Karen Eboch is, but if you were asking me the professor's name was David Skaggs, History 3xx, American Military History. Great class.

I went to school (at my little DIII college in Iowa) and made good friends with two native Kansans who love KU. One actually went on to KU for graduate school. Along with cheering for Iowa I also follow and cheer for KU. They are a "big time" program that do things by the books and have the history to back it up (not like Georgetown who have only been on the scene for 25 years in hoops or Miami, FL who are pretenders in the history of college football).

I've been to Lawrence a few times- great college town and entering Phog Allen is amazing. Also think about this- James Naismith invented the game and coached KU, he coached Phog Allen who coached Dean Smith who coached Michael Jordan. Pretty close connectiong between the guy who came up with the game and arguably the greatest player to ever play the game.
