Seriously

Post by apollo »

Why would Basketball schedule a home game at the exact time of the biggest football game in the Midwest???

This is baffling to me...play on Friday or Sunday or Saturday at 4:30pm....there may be 50 people at the game right now looking at the live stream

I said the same thing. I'm out of town for the in laws Thanksgiving so I couldn't make it anyhow but I'm in agreement. Scheduling a game in direct conflict with OSU/um is about as stupid as doing it the same time as the Superbowl.

BG won 90-58

Fox led the Falcons with 18.

And I think maybe 300 were at the game.

And Ohio State down 10 to Michigan. Not missing much if you are a Buckeye fan.

With a hockey game tonight a 4pm start made better sense.

At least we won...hopefully the team can at least stay a little relevant once MAC play starts up in about a month.

I can go either way, but I actually kinda like it. Growing up it seemed like just about every game was Saturday at noon or Wednesday at 7...I remember going with my grandparents. Even when I was in school during the McLeod years we played a LOT of saturday noon home games. Loved the Kegs 'n' Eggs guys in the student section showing up drunk at noon for the games.

I have no beef with Saturday evening games either, but I kinda like going back to the noon starts so that you can go to the game and still have the rest of your Saturday left after.

Of course I liked the 4 PM starts where you could easily do the game and then dinner as well. Not a fan of 6:00 games as it kinda means either a really early or really late dinner.

Unlike football, where I think making a day of tailgating before the game is part of the experience, I'm not as picky about hoops start times. I'm just bummed I've had to miss 2 of our first 4 home games due to being gone on Saturdays. Hope to not miss too many more.

Which brings me back to yesterday's game. Was anybody actually there? I'm sure Transfer was. Is Morgan just that horrible, or did we finally show up and play some ball? Nice to see an easy cruise victory, and with what looks like a struggling Zach Denny too. Nice to see Frye have another nice game. He seems to be settling into his role, his quicks are a real weapon. Need to see more from Caldwell though. If he's gonna be our combo guard we cannot have him shooting 20% from the field..

Why are we playing ND on Tuesday? 6 games into the season I'd rather not see us playing D2 schools, but oh well. At least I should be able to make the game.

We tried to schedule the other ND but we backed out because ND may have had some recruiting violations. Or maybe a student trainer was taking tests for some of the players. I'm not a fan of playing ND 6 games in. If they are on the schedule make it the 1st game of the season.

I don't think they give a f**k one way or the other. They schedule the games to fit how they want it to fit... I doubt the overlap against football is even a part of the conversation

I was at the game....Zack is in a shooting funk, but his game is much more than scoring. What, 7 boards, 8 steals, and only 2 credited turnovers to go with his 2 assists. It's hard to tell where this team we played was. We went on an 18-0 run to take a 10 point lead in the first half and it pretty much kept on going from there.

As ever, Dylan Frye is fun to watch. Lillard got into some attitude trouble with an intentional foul called against him. I like seeing 3,4,and 5 out on the floor together. Our walk-on even got into the scoring with 1-2 from the free throw line :-)

Anyway, I like this team. Whatever the record, I think they'll be fun to watch.

I fully understand Denny is way more than just his scoring. I was just saying it was nice to see us blow a team out, even with him not shooting well.

I do think, long term, this team needs Denny's shot to come back to what it was the first half last year. When he's not shooting well we have to play Fox more to stretch the defense and Fox is a liability on defense and really doesn't bring much beyond his jump shot.

I think the team has some development to do, but I like the potential.

Frye's got that little hitch/head fake that freezes people before he crosses over...fun to watch

Concerning the start time, we need home games, Morgan State has been on the road forever, Morgan State had to fly out of Detroit 7:30 pm and we had a home hockey game too.

Unless we play at 10 am, the noon start is where it had to be as that was the date they could play us.

And we won.

Go Falcons!
