I just saw an ad on TV, that on Thursday 1/20/05 at 7PM, the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Anderson Arena here in BG. Just thought that I'd let ya in on this. According to Ticketmaster.com, tickets seem to range from $15-24.

As a side note, I saw them in what was the Rosemont Horizon (now its Allstate Arena) near O'Hare Airport about 10 years ago, and they really weren't that entertaining. They just ran the same two or three plays ALL night. The best part of the night was the couple in front of us that was making out for about 2 hours straight. Just thought I'd let ya guys know about this in case you want something different to do in BG.

Well that depends. Will someone be making out? (I'm guessing they got their tickets for free and she lived at home. Just a guess).

Saw them last year in Hinckley, IL. The place where the were born and place where they performed their first show. Not the same as it was 15 years ago. I will not go back and see them anymore.

I got to take pictures at the event last year when they were in Anderson and it wasn't that bad. You have to realize that they are for entertainment and not playing real basketball, Jeff. Sure they do the same 2 plays all night (run around in circles near center court passing the ball back and forth to each other and then tossing the alley-oop or someone going in for a dunk and then throwing it over his head for an alley-oop to his teammate), but it's all in good fun. They get the crowd members on the court and have bicycle races for the kids. I had a great time and honestly...how cool is it to see someone doing this (below) on a rim at Anderson Arena?!?!

I saw them several times in the past few years. If you have kids, this is great entertainment for the family. Just like a BG basketball game.

This game was a lot closer than the score revealed. Like my 7 YO said if Showtime doesn't quit screwing around and get off the court the globetrotters might lose.
