Turner and Uju?

Will they be redshirted? This is a forgettable season but we could sure use another bigman if Uju gets healthy? He seems like we should redshirt him because he seemed to be at the very least a solid rotational player.

Turner played in game #15. We have 31 scheduled. 32 if you include the first game of the playoffs. I don't know how it works with the tournament games that count as 1 game or stuff like that but can he get that medical redshirt? It looks like the answer is yes and we absolutely should be sitting him out the rest of the year if so. We have enough guards even if he is one of the better ones.

I believe Turner can redshirt as long as he doesn't play anymore games. This would be considered a 'medical redshirt' since he did participate in a game. If he hadn't played at all it would been just 'redshirt'. To qualify for medical redshirt you must play less than 30% of your teams scheduled games. In BG case 30% would be 9 games. I don't think he has played in 9 games. Also he can't play past the halfway point. You said BG has 31 games scheduled so you need to go back to an even amount to and you go backwards to 30games. So Turner can't play more than one games total and can't play past game #15. He appears to meet those requirements. For a medical redshirt some form of injury needs be listed. I'm sure they can think of something.

As far as Uju. He came from a Juco after transferring after his freshman year at another college. I'm not so sure the NCAA would grant him a redshirt. BG is his 3rd college. He may have wasted a year.

I am pretty sure that Turner is injured. We just have Belicheckian level secrecy around it.
