Richaun Holmes????

Yo, I don't know if anyone here has noticed, but old boy Richaun is emerging as a badass NBA rim protector. He's had numerous SportsCenter worthy blocks, including a particularly nasty block on Blake Griffin that sent him tumbling beyond that baseline.

Then there was that ridiculous monster dunk that went thru the nylon and bounced off Draymon Green's head. That's my favorite NBA highlight of the year so far.

Sixers have an absurd backlog of 4s and 5s on their roster, but Holmes per 36 numbers are also very strong. They unloaded Elyasova and Okafor will likely be gone by next fall.

Holmes will either be a backup to the most transcendent NBA talent of the decade (Embiid) of establish himself as the starting 4. Either way, it's great to see a kid come out of BGSU and emerge as one of the better rim protectors in the NBA.

I brought back another thread a few days ago if you would have noticed. I mentioned he has his best scoring night and overall game. In 26 min off the bench he had 24 pts, 9 rebounds and several blocks. He is really becoming a valuable bench player / 6th man.

So Holmes started Friday after his 24pt 9 rebound game. On Friday he had 17pts, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocks.

Today Holmes came off the bench but what a stat line. 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, 4 blocks and only 1 foul. He is becoming a very good player.

Factoring in his reach and vertical...he covered more area at the rim during the NBA deal at Portsmouth than anyone in several years (IIRC). Glad he's translating the measurables into production

NBA is such a superstar driven league. His game is ideal for the 3rd to 8th player in a rotation that doesn't need the ball in his hands to make an impact on the game.
