I'm excited about next season. I think the Frye is the real deal and a couple of the incoming freshman will be major players right away. A lot of folks seem to be pretty high on Koch's rebounding abilities and touch around the glass. Huger is going to get BG back to the tourney.

He's building the basketball program the way Clawson built the football program. A little slowly for some people's taste...but we're in a position to enjoy a lot of success for the net few years

Agree that Huger seems to have program headed in right direction. But until i noticed the 2007 disclaimer, i thought, better than Nate Thurmond, Elijah Chatman , Wavey Junior, Ira Harge, Pat Haley group? There couldn't possibly be a better group than this Harold Anderson group. Coupled with Butch Komives, they had the makings of a Natl. Champ. But Harge transferred (to M. Mex., ) and Junior became ineligible. Since Freshmen couldn't play varsity then, fans came to watch this group play a freshman sched., then enjoyed some pretty good basketball for several yrs.
Team , though losing above mentioned players, eventually had THREE all Americans, but Harge was 3rd team for his other school while Nate and Butch were 1st and 2nd teamers.

Wow, I had no idea that Ira Harge originally came to BG! He scored over 1,000 points in just two years at New Mexico.

According to his Wikipedia page, he was forced to leave BG during his freshman year when his father became ill, then went to Burlington JC before playing those last two years for UNM. Harge, Thurmond, et al would have been an unbelievable class.
