Did not see this mentioned, but since his old man is a former BGSU Head Coach, thought I would post it here.
Andrew has elected to become a Bobcat as a Graduate Transfer.
He will head to the MAAC and play for Quinnipiac.

Re: Andrew Dakich to become a Bobcat (Grad-Transfer)
Wasn't he recently put on scholarship at UM??? While ago, I remember seeing a video where they surprised him in a team meeting with a campus cop who came into the meeting and made it look like Andrew was in trouble. It was a great video, btw.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I saw the same video on twitter posted by his dad. Apparently it didn't come with a 2 year guarantee or playing time.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

The scholarship was a one yr deal and the plan all along was for him to transfer out as a senior be able to play someplace else. I subscribe to the UM Scout site and this was always the plan.
Most believe that despite Dan's wishes, Andrew will try to get into coaching as well.

Yeah, like the ESPN article said, Andrew was always planning to redshirt and go somewhere else for his fifth year. In several years, injuries to some of his teammates depleted the ranks, & he elected to burn his redshirt & play. Finally, in 2016-17, he was able to sit out the season.OptionQB wrote:The scholarship was a one yr deal and the plan all along was for him to transfer out as a senior be able to play someplace else. As an update on this (I'm not sure what happened since May, but he isn't going to Quinnipiac anymore) he is heading to Ohio State to play for new coach Chris Holtmann.

From what I see, it looks like he didn't get into the program he was aiming for at Quinnipiac, and the stars aligned for him to get some good PT at OSU. Can't imagine the maize and blue are super thrilled. I'm surprised someone who has a rivalry so ingrained in their everyday life could go to the other side. I don't know that I could see four-year player from UT finishing out their career by being a starter at BG.
