I looks like it is going to be livestreamed which is awesome!

We all know our team. My guess at the rotation is.
1 Caldwell, So-Cummings, Fr
2 Frye, So,-Turner, Fr(R)-Plowden, Fr
3 Lillard, Jr-Fox, Sr-Kulackovskis Fr (IR)
4 Uju, Jr(R)-Koch, Fr
5 Wiggins, Jr-Gadson, Fr
I bet that Koch takes over the PF before the year is out.
I would bet that Fox sees his minutes cut unless he is hot.
Maybe something like
1 Caldwell (25) Cummings (12)
2 Frye (25) Turner (12) Plowden (11)
3 Lillard (25) Fox (10)
4 Uju (20)-Koch (25)
5 Wiggins (25) Gadson (10)
Of the new guys I am most excited about Koch and Cummings. (Don't be so immature

) Koch seems like he has the game to translate right away. A very high floor to be a solid starter at the 4 immediately combined with a ceiling that could have him be the centerpiece of the team. Cummings scored in bunches a lot. I bet there are nights where he is non existent and nights where he leads us in scoring. Gadson I think ends up a very solid big man but it takes longer for those guys sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised to see him eased in. Especially with Wiggins being one of our best players. Plowden and Turner I put in the same category of wildcard. If they become the best player on the team and the go to guy I won't be totally shocked. If they are nothing more than a long defender who can give quality minutes but are never more than a capable starter I won't be surprised.
I expect that exact role from Uju. Starter at first and then a great rotational player who is never a star and never a liability. I think he is a solid worst starter who won't man that spot for long. Wiggins-Fox-Lillard-Frye and Caldwell are all known.
There have been very few BG teams that I was this excited about since the Pardon-McLeod-?-Klassen-Matela days. This team has a legit 11 guys that I think can be solid. No more days of signing big men who average 2pts a game in HS. They just need one or two to become a bonified star. if I had to bet I think it's Frye and then Wiggins. Frye seems the most aggressive and Wiggins the most talented.
Capital
* Picked to finish 5th in OAC

I thought Schreck would be taller than 6-3

Thanks for this post. Didn't realize that the exhibition actually tipped off at 6 rather than the usual 7.
So ready to hear some sneakers squeaking.
You do a great job with the recruiting threads, Globe, but it's just not my cup of tea. I don't really enjoy watching highlight reels on youtube, and I don't follow HS hoops to know if a kid is putting up good stats in a crap league, or whatever. It is nice to at least see our current crops of incoming kids that were actually GOOD HS players; I never fathomed how Orr expected to get college production out of kids that barely produced in HS...
So because I don't really follow the recruiting all that closely I always enter every season with an open mind about all the freshmen/incoming players. The exhibition is my first chance to see them play, and it's always exciting.
I have high hopes for Frye this year, although I'm unsure if expectations are fair. He was so slightly built last year, but the kid looks like he could become the legit pure scoring guard that we haven't had since Ron Lewis. The other big issue with the team last year was just a complete lack of depth, most specifically with guys over 6'6. This year it seems like we at least enter the season with some bigger bodies...last year we were already thin before suffering injuries and a defection late in the game.
And I STILL think Lillard has talent. He's gotta decide he wants to take that talent and use it.
It's funny but Wiggins doesn't really excite me. I think he's a solid player who can do a lot of good things. I hope I'm wrong, but I've never felt he was going to become a truly dominant 17 & 10 type big man. Hope I'm wrong, but dunno...
If Wiggins, Lillard, Frye, & Caldwell all take a step forward in their development, and we get at least one newcomer to be a legit contributor this team could be quite good. If we continue the same cycle that Orr started (every year high hopes for the previous year's freshman, with none ever developing) then we'll probably be another bottom of the barrel MAC squad.

Wiggins received some first team All-MAC from a publication I had seen posted on twitter awhile back. I might just be riding that wave. I think he is atleast a steady 5 for the next two years. Which I would welcome. He can only get better playing next to another actual big.

If Koch is as good as advertised...I wonder if Uju will slide over to the wing for a bit. Didn't see much of him lat year...but he might be able to pull it off

We didn't think Richaun was very good...oh wait, he wasn't under Orr
Wiggins showed unbelievable improvement from Freshman to Soph. If he only improves half as much, look out.
Hard to believe. The wait is over and hoops start again!!! Yay!
Go Falcons.

Interestingly I remember complaining under Orr for at least a season or two why Richaun was not getting more minutes. He wasn't nearly the NBA prospect he looked like under Jans, but his talent was clear.
If Wiggins improves as much this year as he did last year he could be quite good, just doesn't really "excite me". I hope I'm wrong. I hope he comes out and is a consistent 15 & 10 guy. You could count on him for 10 & 8 most of the year last year, so it really isn't asking for a huge leap in development. My biggest gripe with him is the seeming refusal to dunk the ball. I hope this year when he gets a rebound or gets down low he just goes up strong and DUNKS it. Stop with the bunny layup BS, I know he missed at least 5-10 of those bunnies last year, and the year before. That really upsets me from a big man, and probably colors my opinion of him overall.
I cannot wait until Thursday

Lillard is out for a month
New rotation and curious who starts tomorrow. I could see them starting Fox but not playing him tons of minutes.
Maybe something like
1 Caldwell (25) Cummings (18)
2 Frye (25) Turner (18)
3 Fox (15) Plowden (19)
4 Uju (20)-Koch (25)
5 Wiggins (25) Gadson (10)

I think that Turner and probably Plowden have very high ceilings. This should allow them to see lots more minutes in the first month and hopefully blossom.

Under Orr, I could never figure out why the hell Cameron Black was getting so many minutes in front of Torian Oglesby.

I think there's about 500 or so thoughts I still have that begin with "under Orr" that still leaves me baffled....

Koch starts. Turner for Lillard.
We also added a player DeAndre Turner who played at Wooster. More to come on him I;m sure.
Love the aggressiveness on offense from both Koch and Turner. Not so much the D for Koch. Blown by 2-3 times easily.

Plowden is an athlete.
