1. FGCU former head coach had a deal with the devil. A Tom Bradyesque deal. Look up the story about how he met his wife.

2. They have 19 players on their roster? I am so confused.

Looks like tons of transfers
3. They are 2-0 and look very good.

It'll be an interesting test... Hoping to have a great crowd and a lot of energy in the building.

Heyo! As my name suggest I am an FGCU fan and figured I’d give a little info on our squad. To start with the roster 6 of the players are walk-ons, including Ryan McAdoo (son of Bob McAdoo). We have two transfers that won’t be eligible in Troy Baxter and Michael Gilmore (nephew of Artis Gilmore).
We beat a solid Illinois State team at home by 11 in a high scoring affair, 98-87, then turned around and traveled to Siena and trounced then by 33 on their court. Can’t wait for the game on Saturday and if you guys have any questions regarding the Eagles, please ask away. We don’t have an active fan board of our own so the only people outside of the area that I get to talk about the team with are opposing fans.

Looks like NINE transfers from other school total if I'm reading bios correctly.

Ernst is on scholarship. From what I've seen in this young season he is definitely our most fluid athlete in the post. He gives us a different look when he is in the game compared to Doyle and Simmons who have a fairly similar game to each other. However our bigs haven't be utilized much this year with none of them averaging more than 20 minutes a game so far, though I expect that to change if Doyle can stay out of foul trouble. Things will get interesting at the semester break when we get 6'10 Gilmore back, because he gives us a big with the ability to step out and shoot or put it on the floor.

You are in fact reading that correctly, though both Matthews and Ko are walk-ons for us this season. We are a very young program that only went D-1 in 2007-2008 season and weren't eligible for postseason play until 2011-2012. Due to this fact we struggled with recruiting good talent, though that is changing with all our recent success. To compensate both Dooley and his predecessor, Enfield, were/are very active on the transfer market with a total of 20 (by my count) players transferring in with prior D-1 experience.

I think we had interest or offered prior to him going to his first school.

I remember when they went to the Sweet Sixteen and they kept showing her. That was in 2013. It doesn’t seem like that long ago

I was a manager with the team during the Enfield Era and had an up front and personal seat for that season. Everyone around the team knew it was going to be a special year when we hosted and upset Miami in our second game of the season (probably our biggest home game in school history). The scary thing is this year's team is without a doubt more talented team on paper than that one.

BG trailing FGCU 43-40 at the half. 10 players have seen 1st half action. BG was down by 13 before cutting it down to 3.
