BG /Akron

DH for BG men and women at the JAR Saturday...pending any doomsday winter weather cancellation. Finally beat these guys last year and they are definitely down this year. Zippy is 7-8, 0-3 MAC. Great chance to grab a conf road win.

Not gonna be able to make it Mike, other plans w/ family. Sure would like to see a sweep; women need to get untracked or go 0-5 in MAC play.

Sure would love to get this win, especially on the men's side. The chance to be 12-5 and 3-1 in the MAC... gotta take advantage of that opportunity.

We're without Matt Fox this afternoon. According to John Wagner, he was in street clothes and a walking boot on the bench during warmups today. Just something to keep an eye on.

Hopefully we can keep this win streak rolling! Would be really nice to be 12-5 overall and 3-1 in the MAC after today.

Under 16 in the first half, down 10-6. Slow start for both sides. Plowden to the line for two when we're back from the break. Is it just me or does it always seem like we get fouled when there have to be media timeouts and it absolutely kills our momentum?

Under 12, Akron is up 17-12. Not a bad start, but definitely slow offensively, and not great defensively. Gotta get tougher and close out on their shooters.

Foul going into the under 8, as well. Turner will have 2 free throws out of the break.

BG played better during that 4 minute stretch. Down 22-19 now, but getting better looks offensively. Just gotta take care of the basketball and not turn it over.

Under 4, Akron is up 29-24, and they're going to the line for 2 after the break.

Is Akron's gym known for having crappy rims? It just seems like there's just way too much bounce in every shot that draws iron. It's made for a strange game offensively.

We have NOT played a great first half, but we're down just 36-32 at halftime.

Gotta play tighter in the 2nd half and take care of the ball. This is a winnable game.

16:29 left in the 2nd half, we're down 48-35. We were within 4, had a chance to cut it two, and then they blew it open.

It's frustrating to watch. Akron is not at all a good team. Yet we're on the verge of being blown out by them.

We're forcing bad shots and not playing our game.

Forcing bad shots is our game. That's what we do. Our shot selection is atrocious. We only take low percentage shots.

Good point. I meant what SHOULD BE our game: getting the ball inside to Wiggins and letting Turner be our main shooter. Frye is trustworthy driving, but his shot is too inconsistent for me to feel too confident in it anymore. Caldwell's offense has essentially disappeared. And I want Lillard out there instead of Koch. His defense will help keep us in this one.

It took until the 2nd half for Todd Walker to reveal that Matt Fox is injured and in street clothes. Sprained ankle.

Under 12, down 56-46. No BG offense to be found in this half.

Not trying to get on you. Just frustrated by the squad.

Caldwell has become a nonfactor. Including this game he is 16-73 over the last 10 games. Thats 21% from the field. I am confident I could do that
