I was happy to see we had over 4,000 there today, thanks to all of you that turned out for what was a big game for both teams.

May have been good attendance but it was super quiet at some points of the game. I was stunned by the silence...

Wish I could have been there. It sounded eerily quiet in that place on the radio, especially over the last couple minutes of the game. What happened?
I have to say, however, that I would take the silence over that damn F#@$ Toledo chant.

I know, let's hope we can stay away from that F Toledo chant come Saturday. It really is not classy lol

you're not gonna stop it -- there will always be a group of drunk frat assholes that can only communicate through profanity. Ask them to stop, and they ask you to step outside. Hopefully all those people will either be passed out or still drinking come gametime...

All the athletic department had to do is instruct the ushers and University police to eject anyone they hear using profanity in regaurds to the opposing team or officials. Yes it may lead to several students and fans being tossed at first, but if you establish a bare minimum of what will be tolerated everyone will fall in line. And it would be consistent.

I agree, we can be creative with chants and some of them can be great. But swearing is just classless. It reflects very, very poorly on the school - BG. I always feel bad for the parents who have children or the older people in the crowd. Be loud, be proud, but keep it clean and respectful.....we are BG.

Hey at WMU we have a no profanity policy that has worked really well. We always have the media guide to the team we are playing before the game so that we can put together some real funny material that is not profane in any way. For instance, we are playing NIU on Wednesday and we have sheets made up that we pass out to students with chants, and tidbits about the other team. In the NIU media guide, it says that when there center isnt on the court he enjoys baking cookies. Tell me that isnt funny!

Reminds me of my junior year at a game with Ball State right after it came out that BSU's Steve Payne had a few grades "adjusted" and was miraculously eligible again, I made a sign for a TV game that said "There is no F in Payne, He had it changed to a C-minus"
I thought it was funny, everyone else kinda scratched their heads...

Sadly that happens a lot with all the best signs and chants
