Let's get 2 in a row today! Double header blues?

Post by bg1984 »

Let's hope they can build on the OU win. Have to say, that's the worst Bobcat team I've seen in a long time but they are young too. I'd like to see a complete game today for two full halves. I realize there are bigger issues in the world, but I'm not a fan of the double headers as a men's basketball Anderson Club ticket holder. If I was interested in women's basketball I'd purchase tickets. My parking is unavailable when I arrive at 2:30 and the experience I pay for in the Anderson Club is minimized with women's ticket holders. Yes, it helps attendance and I get that. I'm not being disrespectful to the women's program but it just does not interest me. It may be fine at the high school level but not here. That said, im looking forward to watching inspired basketball by the guys today.

What a wonderful start. Looks like the Bad News Falcons on the court. Down 11-0 already.

Down 17.

De La Rosa eating up Wiggins.

Shooting 19% and being outrebounded by 10 already.

Thank goodness for Turner.

Turner leads BG with 15 points.

BG trials Kent 25-31 @ half.

On a side note, I'm all for giving students a chance to broadcast but some of these announcers we have are just 'clueless' when it comes to basketball, can't speak clearly and just say stupid comments. If you go on the other schools message boards we are constantly being made fun of. Kent State has Michael Reghi doing even it's women's telecasts on ESPN3 and we have students and can't even form a sentence. I understand nerves come into play but it makes our product look even worse.

Back to the game, we can still win this.

And, for those who missed most of it, like me, Falcons come out with the win.
Gads, that Kent kid is HUUUUGE! You wouldn't think that there'd be a big difference between 7' 0'" and 6' 10", but the physical difference and appearance is radical!

Not sure who you're listening to on ESPN3 , but I think this guy is decent. He's usually on top of calls, accurate and not as melodramatic as Reghi, but still a good announcer.

The announcer is good. It's the color guy and sideline guy.

BG has 4 winnable games out of 5 if they can play like they are capable of. That could get us to 9-6 heading into the final week. Ball State is next and they lost today at Eastern and scored only 41 pts. Big game Tues.
