BG vs Zips

Post by gmartin »

Tipoff is a few hours away. We cannot afford to lose this game. Win this game and will remain the #4 seed and the ever so important bye in the first round. Lose the game and if things go a certain way we could drop all the way down to the #8 seed.

I think BG comes out strong and plays a complete game for once. BG 86 Akron 70

I think the atmosphere for this game is going to be great. It's an orange out, and there is a half court shot for $50,000 for a lucky student, so I think there should be plenty of students there. If we come out hot, the crowd should be into it.

I think we'll win 77-68.

A string of texts from a friend about potential seating changes coming to the Stroh Center:

"He said they are looking into changing the seating in the Stroh, too."

"They want to basically not use the bleachers anymore. Move the students behind the opposite basket and potentially swap benches."

"He said something about some sort of court side seating where the bleachers are now. Also, A-band in the section next to the section where students would be. The side right next the locker room hall way."

Thoughts?

Wow. That girl sideline reporter was BAD. She froze up and then stuttered and then repeated the same thing 3x and still couldn't speak. Looked as if she was crying. Feel bad for these girls. They are not ready to be live on camera.

Halftime, down 41-38. Fox hit a jumper right before the half.

Akron with a 3 point lead at half. 41-38

Why is it when BG shoots free throws we never have anyone down to rebound a miss. With either just have 1 person for the rebound or zero where the other team has 4 people. When you have a shooter shooting less than 60% you would think you would have someone to possibly get the rebound.

The reason that we do that is so we can get set up defensively. It's a weird strategy, I agree.

From Akron message board:
LOL@ this BG sideline reporter. that was BAD.

Poor young lady.  Curious to see if they go back to her.  That was a little rough!

And that's only a few. More comments on the reporter than the game.

Every school is laughing at us. Can we please train these people before they get on camera. Making us look more than bad.
