Complete Domination. Represented the conference very well. The way they played tonight they can also win on Saturday.

Oats just signed A5 year extension with Buffalo. If Buffalo knocks off Kentucky I can see Oats getting a P5 job.

Heck, we only lost to Buffalo by 13 points the first time we played them!!

So does that mean we would have beaten the Pac-12 champions by 8 points.

Kentucky isn't really Kentucky this year...Buffalo has a real shot

I don't think Kentucky is as good as Arizona, but it might prove a tougher matchup for them in actuality. I'm just pissed at myself. I said all year that Buffalo was a damned good team capable of winning a tourney game. THen I was pissed off when they got matched up with Arizona, I thought they got screwed over...never stopped to think how badly Arizona actually got screwed over. I didn't think UB could handle the two 7 footers, but they did it with ease. Of course I thought Arizona would win, and stupidly had them as my bracket champ...oops. Oh well, love seeing the MAC be the ones that bust my bracket.

Further, that game was a BRIGHT shining example of how piss poor our roster construction was this year. Arizona also relied on 2 posts that cannot guard outside of the paint. One of them was the best player in college basketball this year and most likely the #1 or #2 overall pick in the NBA draft. And still, Buffalo, with their ability to just keep rolling 6'3-6'7 athletes at them absolutely DOMINATED that game. They were consistently able to pull Ayton & Rustic away from the rim and then blow by them. Of course it helps that Arizona's backcourt seemed like it didn't even wanna play in that game, but still.

That Buffalo roster is a modern basketball roster. UK isn't a great team, but they're going to throw more long athletes on the court than Arizona did. IF UB shoots the way they did last night they can win though. May as well keep on rolling now.

Pac 12 is trash in football and basketball right now. Still a great win.

But PAC-12 does have 5 Women's teams in the field of 64. That should make up for the Men's abysmal performance.

Wow wow wow!!! And we thought Buffalo over Arizona was the biggest upset. UMBC beats #1 Virginia by 20. They are in the same regional bracket as Buffalo. If Buffalo can get by Kentucky they will face either a #9 seed or #16 seed for a trip to the Elite 8.

1. I picked Buffalo to beat Arizona. I'm kicking myself for not picking them to beat Kentucky too.
2. My wife is a UVA alum so I only caught about half of that game. Holy cow UMBC! VCU, anyone?

We beat UMBC a couple of years ago...and now they're making history and our players are making travel arrangements out of town. F**k me running...

I mean, that same season we lost to Detroit by 15, but now we are coming off of a .500 season and return four starters next year, while they went 8-24 and 4-14 in the Horizon League. We can all cherry-pick games and schools and play the Woe Is Me card.

Just a quick thought. I know it's men versus women but how would our men's basketball team fare against the women's UConn basketball team. The Women's UConn team just put up 94 points in the first half. 94 points!!!

Hoping Buffalo and UMBC each win and advance. That would place either a #13 or #16 in Elite 8

I think this is a good a place as any to point out the sheer magnitude of the NCAA tournament. For years we've continued dumping money into D1A football while basketball gets put on the back burner. We constantly hear, "We cannot buy the publicity that the football team creates!" We hear it even more when we're playing Tuesday games at 9:00 in November, "We cannot buy the type of publicity that we get for these games!"

I would argue that UBMC and Buffalo (and VCU, Witchita, Gonzaga, Butler, and countless others before them) have gotten FAR more publicity from their NCAA tournament play than a MAC football team EVER will. s**t, people still talk about Kent going to the Elite 8, FGCU's run, etc. If you're trying to use sports for publicity by far the best bet is a heavy investment, and obviously success, in hoops.

God, I'm so desperate to finally see us play in the tournament I cannot even wrap my head around what it'd be like to actually WIN in the thing...
