BG coaches salaries

Post by gmartin »

It was reported in a few stories over the weekend where Loyola Chicago spent just over $500,000 on its entire coaching staff; HC and all its assistants for 2017-18. I'm not sure if that figures covers the team doctor in the medical staff, I would assume not. Living in Chicago for 4 years I can tell you that cost of living is extremely high so that salary is very low.

So Loyola pays it's entire staff just over $500,000. In comparison Miami pays Jim Larranaga and its assistants, 2.78 million. Tennessee pays Rick Barnes and its assistants 3.65 million. Both teams lost to Loyola Chicago. I can't find the salaries of BG assistant coaches. I believe Huger makes over $375,000.

So Loyola is spending less money than BG on its basketball coaches and winning. So why not us!!!

I find it hard to believe that LUC only spends $500k on their entire coaching staff. I am almost positive Moser makes over $400,000/year himself.

That does seem hard to believe...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Per ESPN on its main page today.

But what if Loyola-Chicago -- the 11-seed accompanied by a chaplain named Sister Jean -- keeps winning? Per U.S. Department of Education data, the Ramblers spent just over $500,000 on men's basketball in the most recent fiscal year, while Kentucky allocated nearly $3 million. Those two teams could collide Saturday with the winner securing a trip to the Final Four.

I figured the Miami and Tennessee figures based on its current salaries.

Ah, got it. Those numbers usually don't reflect any of the salaries. They are for travel, materials, etc. etc. Calipari's salary is like $7-8 million alone.

Oh. Well I can definitely see why KY has a bigger budget then. They probably fly from Lexington to Louisville. Wonder what Louisville budget was then. How much was budgeted for the strippers.

Well, you can't ask Pitino, because he had no clue any of that stuff was going on.
