Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
Per BCSN's Eric Haubert via twitter...Wiggins to file but not sign with an agent to maintain eligibilty.
Is this a dumpster fire yet?

It's fine. This happens with a ton of guys. Him not signing an agent tells me that he's just going to workout for some scouts and receive a list of stuff he needs to work on for the next level. I'm surprised that more guys don't do that.
He will absolutely be back for next year unless he gets some astronomical draft grade, which I don't think he will get quite yet.
And since when does putting a guy in the NBA make the program a dumpster fire?

Wiggins declaring for the draft? He is the opposite of what the NBA wants. Athletic big guys who can shoot. He isn’t athletic and has no jumper. What’s next? Ethan Good transferring to Duke?

I heard Louisville because Louisville needs something Good to happen for once.guest44 wrote:Wiggins declaring for the draft? He is the opposite of what the NBA wants. Athletic big guys who can shoot. He isn’t athletic and has no jumper. What’s next? Ethan Good transferring to Duke?
Re: Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
This has to be the first non 1st team All MAC performer to ever declare for the draft. Bold move considering the MAC has had 1 player drafted in like 15 years. Social media has a consistent way of creating false realities, like Wiggins and Holmes having any similarities for professional basketball.
Re: Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
He's not likely to be actually leaving... he's just getting a draft grade and seeing where he currently is. He gets a practice run for the draft process, why not let him take it? I have absolutely nothing wrong with this decision.
Obviously, I don't think he will be drafted. He has a lot to work on to play in the NBA. But why not at least test the waters and see where he is?

Well if Wiggins has to do layup drills or be put on a 3 on 3 drill to show his defensive skills we all know what those results will be.

He might be "just getting a draft grade"...or he might be evaluating his stock for a gig professionally in Europe. Who knows...the point is he has an eye on the door for an exit.
It's a dumpster fire if he does leave and we are left with Gadson as our only real big

He has an eye for the door and a total false sense of reality. He is about 8th current MAC player who would be drafted if NBA teams could only draft MAC players.
Re: Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
It sounds like I’m alone, but I think this is a really smart move by Wiggins. He’ll get feedback on his stock and learn what skills he has or lacks in the eyes of NBA teams. The opportunity to declare without hiring an agent is used all of the time and more than often the player comes back. Good for him in pursuing this.

Ya usually it’s used by actual NBA prospects.

Seriously, people love to hate on our guys. It's just ridiculous. Be happy for the kid. He proudly wears the orange and brown for us. The least we can do is support him in this exciting time during his basketball career.

I'm not hating on him...Good for him if he gets enough positive feedback that he leaves now. It's just going to suck for us if he does

Re: Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
G league getting a G league for him to play in?
Re: Wiggins leaving for the NBA?
If it were another player with similar limitations on any team not Toledo or BG, the local media guys would be tweeting about how ridiculous it is. But he is local so, tell everyone how smart it is, so he gets the attention he desired. He will be playing for BG next year or maybe looking to transfer.
