It took some time but Rod Caldwell has transferred to UNC Asheville. Funny thing about that team is that Caldwell will be the 5th scholarship PG on the roster. After he sits out a year, the other 4 PGs will still not have graduated. Guess he likes competition.

Asheville isn't really anywhere near the Ocean, it's in the Mountains.

It's not one of the classic NC BBQ areas either, it's too far west where the BBQ starts to mingle with national BBQ flavors/styles rather than sticking to the more traditional NC styles (Piedmont/Lexington style, or Eastern NC style). No doubt you can find good BBQ around Asheville if you look, but it's not "their thing".

I've never spent much time in Asheville but a former co-worker's daughter relocated there, and he raved about it, she loved it. It's in the mountains and is apparently an up & coming hip city to live. Supposedly a good craft beer/cocktail scene along with good food. From the sounds of it, a pretty sweet place to live for 20 somethings that want to be close to the outdoors in the mountains, and also have a vibrant night life.

Either way, if you're not basing it on basketball or education (I'm not familiar enough with the school to comment), I'm quite certain that Asheville and the surrounding area offers a lot more than does NW Ohio (not hard to imagine). Also, it is still considerably closer to the ocean than we are.

Turns out he's going to Ashland now, weird. Back with Koch. I guess it sounds like Asheville.

Geez I hope so. Ashland is getting better though, they won 20 last year. Caldwell should pair well with Ben Haraway who was really good on that Norwalk team that won state a few years ago and if they play Koch alongside Drew Noble from Louisville they are going to have very good bigs for DII.
