Bowling Green, Ohio--The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will open the 2004-05 season at NCAA Tournament participant DePaul, November 20, in Rosemont, Illinois and will begin the home portion of their schedule against another NCAA Tournament squad, Illinois-Chicago on November 24.

"I certainly believe that based on the competition we will see in our non-conference schedule, we should be well prepared for the MAC," said BGSU Coach Dan Dakich. "This is as balanced a schedule as we have had and I really like the home games, both inside and outside the MAC, that we have at Anderson Arena."

The Falcons begin MAC play on January 2 at home against Buffalo and will play in the Bracket Buster Saturday on February 19 at home.

Not a bad schedule IMO. I think it's exactly the type of schedule we'll need this year considering everything that's happened off the court this summer. I just really hope these guys can get some confidence early and get things going by the time we hit the MAC schedule. I'm still a believer they can get it done and have a good season, but they've got to believe that and prove it on the court for anything to happen.

Easily the best or one of the best schedules of the Dakich era that I can remember, even with Bluffton. Talking with a pal that plays D-3, he assures me that Bluffton should not present any threats, but the longer we play them, the more chances we take of really getting embarassed.

Other than a brutal February, which could seem like a season in itself, the schedule seems to feature "breaks" in between most tough MAC games, but I think it's too early to tell at this point.

Having gone to Bluffton for a year and having friends who still go there I couldn't agree more. Most years we should beat Bluffton without a problem but the year will come when they have our number and we get beat. But at least they are a university now and not a college. They officially became Bluffton University this summer.

Nice looking sked there! Nice to see YSU @ YSU cuz that's only a 45 min drive for me. Throw in the Kent road game and 4 or 5 home games and I could actually make more than my usual per yr.

GO HOOPS!

Just really glad to see only one non-Division1 school this season. As Option has said our weak schedule has been as responsible for us not making the dance as anything in recent years. I don't foresee a terribly great team this season, but I could be surprised. I don't mind playing ONE team like this a year but anymore is just way too many. I look forward to the day when it is none.

It hurts to say this since I am a die hard Cubs fan, but I've only been to Chi-town once. That was my sophomore year of high school (6 or 7 years ago). I was only there for a week and loved the city and would glady go back. Depending on classes, hw, and work, I'd love to go!

Why would you spend a night in New York to see a game in Chicago?

I thought the game was played in DeKalb this year and not in BG!
