Bill Frack money hard at work

When Mr. Frack passed away, he left BGSU Basketball a TON of money with the intentions of helping the program turn into a top notch program. The money, among many things, was to help bring in top notch programs to the STROH. Well, we honor Bill Frack in 2018 by bringing in FINDLAY for the Bill Frack Challenge Game! Thank you for your donation and support Mr. Frack!

It's tough to piss away millions upon millions of dollars, but Huger and more importantly Moose are doing one hell of a job at it!! Instead of taking the bus, we now get to fly a private jet to Buffalo yearly to get our teeth kicked in!! I posted in the football forum that this athletic department was a disaster, but was shading Moose out of some of the criticism. I change my opinion on that and think it's time for Moose to go as well. He clearly doesn't have a handle on his department or how the programs are supposed to operate. This is an absolute joke! Although I didn't know Mr. Frack personally other than passing by him a few times at games, I'm pretty sure he would be disappointed with how his generous donation has been pissed away by an inept athletic director and department.

The reason that Findlay is the Frack game is because that's where he is from. It's actually a nice, fitting tribute to him.

You want a nice, fitting tribute? Bring in Gonzaga. Bring in a Ohio State. Hell, bring in Cleveland State!! Use the money as it was intended to use. Not to continue to bring in piss poor talent to the STROH and employ a coach who can't compete on the floor or even fill his god da** roster!!!!

Instead we bring in freaking Findlay and backdoor the rest of the money to other programs because our 2 main revenue sports DONT BRING IN REVENUE BECAUSE THEIR TERRIBLE!!!!

Wow. I need to calm down.................................. :drinkers:

You could see this trend year by year. Now that I know the department is capable of scoring a 0 out of 100, I’m the least bit surprised. #TalonsZero

Sorry, but it is absolutely NOT a nice tribute. Quite the contrary it's the cheap/easy way out with a nice story about Frack being a Findlay alum (I think?)

Mr. Frack left that money with the sole purpose of helping BGSU hoops to become the next Gonzaga or Butler. HE didn't leave it to be given tribute games against his hometown lower division team/university.

I already tweeted back at the University with my anger, but I think this one actually deserves a more thought out harsh letter to our AD. They should be embarrassed. This is what happens when you steal from one program to prop up another. That Frack money hasn't done s**t to help BG hoops because they have refused to properly invest it in the hoops program. No, they took that money and stole the rest of the Hoops budget to keep paying for a shitty football program. ANd you can bet your ass part of the decision to schedule these crap games comes from the knowledge that they're going to have to write a multimillion dollar check to try and rescue that football program.

The Stroh Center and the Frack money leave AD with zero excuses why we are not an upper echelon program in the MAC. Instead we're content beating up on FIndlay, Tiffin, and Lourdes every year and getting waxed in MAC play. It's disgusting, and if Mr. Frack had to see this he'd probably take his money back. Makes me wish he would have put a provision on HOW to implement his vision or they lose the money.

This is every bit as embarrassing as having a coach that has yet to realize how many scholarships he gets to hand out in a year...

We need to create a thread for Ashland Basketball and cheer for them this year too.

Why do we always take the cheap assed approach to things? If you want to be D1...bite the fricking bullet and budget the $$ the way the rest of the MAC does. This spend the least and do it on the cheap thing is tiresome

I think you need to talk to the President and Board of Trustees to answer that. The accounting methods and underfunding is simply low in comparison to other”similar” schools. You don’t see academic professors out raising money to fund their basic need in the classroom as many of the coaches have to do.

It would be easier to spend bigger if there was actually money to spend. The budget is tight because the money is tight.

Falcon Club needs more donors...

I am not sure of the reasoning in posting this article Globe. Are you suggesting BGSU move to a for-profit University??

Nope, they are moving away from that model actually. I am suggesting we don't take the Frack money and pay for football by not using money that we typically would have used on basketball for football. I am suggesting we ignore pretty much all other sports and get awesome at basketball.

I don't think we need to "ignore pretty much all other sports" to get awesome at basketball. We just need to commit the Frack money to hoops, commit all other designated money to hoops, and not cut any of the normal funding they would have received.

There is no reason BG cannot field legit D1 Hoops (both men & women), D1 Hockey, and continue to maintain competitiveness in Baseball, Softball ,Soccer, etc.

What we need to do is to stop stealing the money Hoops needs to be great to give it to a football program that can never hope to be more than an afterthought in FBS D1. Unfortunately, I think this issue is bigger than BGSU. The entirety of the MAC needs to read the writing on the wall and realize how badly they've effed over basketball in this conference to keep throwing money left and right at football.
