Another Tuesday night in the Stroh Center sees our BG men's basketball team taking on Akron (14-11, 6-6 MAC) at 7:00pm. If you are able to attend, I highly suggest you do so - our team is for real, and it deserves to see no less than 2,000 people there in the seats on Tuesday night. If not, the game is available for stream on ESPN3 and for discussion right here on this board.

Winning this game would almost wrap up a bye to Cleveland, as we would then be 5 games ahead of Akron with 5 left and at least 4 games up on Central Michigan, holding the seeding tiebreaker over them as we've swept them already.

Akron may not be as incredible as they have been in some previous years, but they will be ready, and as recent history would suggest, this is not an easy team for BG to beat.

It's time to hold serve at home and get the job done, getting win 19 overall and win 11 in MAC play. I'm hoping to see a lot of you there!

Make no doubt about it, Akron will be ready and they are a very good basketball team.

As with almost every home men's BGSU athletic event (football, hockey, men's basketball, and some soccer), and due to the lucky access to free student tickets, I am there as well.

Turner hit a layup to score his 1000th point with 0.9 seconds left. Then, we got 2 Mike Laster free throws to ice it.

2nd win against Akron since 2010.
19 wins overall on the season, same amount as hockey. (!)
11-2 in the MAC, still sitting at the 1-seed with 5 regular season games remaining.

Long way to go, but I love this team. Let's get win #20 on Friday night in Athens!

At times it feels like they are just coasting, like their unpredicted success this year is enough. Many times when they seem to be struggling it just has to do with low energy leading to bad defense and bad ball movement and spacing on offense.

Assuming our guys finish 2nd. I wouldn’t write this team off yet even though they have a tougher road to #1 than Buffalo. The only thing our guys can control is their own destiny and I’m enjoying their journey.

At this moment, I am just savoring a win over the Zips...living 10 min from the U of A and hearing about 1-19 all the time.

ESPN is good for me. There were lots of guys standing around doing nothing again. This isn't like the all 22.
