Following Tuesday’s 67-61 victory over Ball State and riding a 7-game winning streak, our Falcons (16-6, 7-1) head back out on the road to take on the Buffalo Bulls (14-7, 5-3) on Friday, January 31st at 7:00pm on ESPNU. Buffalo comes in following a 77-74 victory @ Akron, which put us in sole possession of first place in the MAC, nearly halfway through the conference season.
This is a massive game. It’s a national broadcast, and it’s a rematch of last year’s MAC title game. I don’t think it’s possible to overstate just how much this one means to our guys - but they aren’t going to back down either. It’s at their place, after all. We haven’t won at their place since January of 2011.
This one could go a long way in determining whether we do/don’t get a free ticket to Cleveland in March, so we need it. It’s a quick turnaround from Tuesday to Friday, but we can’t let that impact our game.
Let’s get it. Beat Buffalo. Go Falcons!

Falcons win, 78-77!
Huge road win. We were down as much as 14 in the first half, but we made enough plays and grabbed a massive road win tonight.
With Akron losing, we now have a 2 game lead over them and a 1 (?) game lead over CMU for the 1-seed in the MAC. Massive step forward tonight.
8 in a row. 17-5, 8-1.

Woo Hoo!!!!
Falcons, overcome a 12 point deficit and pull it out 78-77 with a block by Caleb Fields at the buzzer.

What a great game. Huge run fueled by defense to get back into it at the start of the half then back and forth the whole way down the stretch.
This team is really developing a penchant for making the plays that win games. A very nice habit to form.

Thank god you guys saw it. Live Stats still has it as 51-54 with 13 minutes left in the game.
Frye at 3-11 overall. 2-2 from 3. But with 4 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals.
Frye with boards adn steals when the shot isn't falling?
Yes please!

I watched and recorded the game which started late and cut out about a minute after the game ended. Radio coverage was awful as the internet feed on campus went out. There was so much lag time and transmission trouble that it was cumbersome to follow along. Yes, my stats are still frozen at 51-54. I think Turner had about 20 and Frye about 15.

Great win. Road wins in the MAC are impossible but we've pulled off 2 big ones in the past 7 days.
Buffalo is super athletic, hope they aren't on our half of the bracket in Cleveland.

This ability to mount come-from-behind wins on the roads bodes very well for our ability to succeed in the postseason.

....my live stats also froze, but ESPN almost always carries live stats for all D1 basketball games...when that happens in the future (and it always does) try over there.
Hockey and Baseball are the frustrating ones. When live stats go out on those, there really isn’t any alternative to find the scores unless you go to the radio. USCHO sometimes works, but their stats are usually linked to the schools live stats.
