vs. Toledo (2/8)

Our Falcons (17-6, 8-2) have a big one inside the Stroh Center as they host the hated Toledo Rockets (11-12, 3-7) on Saturday, February 8th at 4:30pm. This game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
We won the last contest against them a few weeks ago at Savage Arena, 85-79, but they’ll be looking for revenge here. That said, this is a massive opportunity to sweep our preseason MAC co-favorite and to grab a win on our home floor in front of an anticipated sellout crowd. It’s an Orange Out, so wear your orange, pack the place, and make some noise during this one.
I’m heartbroken that I won’t be in the building for this one - I already know it’s going to be a ton of fun - so I hope all of you that are planning to be there make a little extra noise for me.
Let’s get it. Beat Toledo. Go Falcons!

33 reserved tickets remain. If you're planning on going and still don't have your tickets, I would grab them immediately.

No idea what the story is, but Dylan Frye isn’t playing today. Really brutal loss for a game of this magnitude. Laster to start in his place. We need someone to step up.
Jordan Strack just reported that Frye left the program entirely. That’s shocking news.

Update: Nick P of the Blade confirmed that we’ll be without Frye for the rest of the season.
Utterly devastating news for this team.

Sounds like Zeigler will actually be starting in his place.
I’m only going to be able to follow on the radio and live stats. Let’s hope this team rises to the occasion and doesn’t let adversity ruin this moment for them.

Holy crap Frye is just GONE???
I was thinking, bwith his shooting down, if we would be better off splitting half ir so of his minutes among Laster, Zeigler and Diggs.
I was ready to experiment. Looks we have to commit instead.
Really do hope the dude is ok. He's frustrated and thrilled me, but never fave me cause to doubt that he is a good person giving great effort.
Dylan Frye - be well.

Yea, really must have some deep personal problems to quit the team in the middle of the season /senior year.

I loved the spirit and the noise! It was joyous to see a sellout. That was the loudest game I've been to since the 70s.
HOWEVER....yet again we fail to take care of business and put away an inferior team at home. We came damned close to loosing that game and I walked out of the Stroh a little pissed.
Here's the deal: JTurner spends WAY too much time pounding the floor with the basketball...working isolation...and then forcing shitty shots because he rarely looks to pass. Our offense freezes up when he gets the ball. He's anti chemestry in the half court and doesn't flow with the rest if the team. Plus, to an extent he's been scouted well and figured out, so teams are guarding him physically and his shooting % and selection has been sucking.
Hugor needs to tweek something NOW bc this s**t isn't gonna get better on its own.

In my opinion, Zeigler looked green and unconfident and spectacularly athletic. I think he's the best on the ball defender I've seen here at BG. When Zeigler finds his confidence, he will be a beast.
I feel very sad for Dylan Frye.
Credit to Hugor for building a roster that can withstand the loss of our senior point guard.
Let's remember that we will be in decent shape at PG next year. Zeigler is being thrown into the fire and we'll see a payoff even this year. We have two freshman guards coming in....Methany who might be the best PG in WV, and 3 star recruit Josiah Fulcher.

Great win. Really happy to get this one and sweep THAT team.
Still leading the MAC with 7 to play...

Despite great distraction this team comes through again. I wish they would celebrate a blowout one of these days but two wins against your biggest rival, first place in the conference with 9 to go and a great atmosphere in the Stroh makes me smile hours later.
