vs. Buffalo (12/6)
vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Following the thrilling 78-76 win over Appalachian State on the road in OT and our solid 21-point home win over Purdue Northwest, our Falcons (3-1) will return to the Stroh Center on Sunday, December 6 at 6:00pm to take on the Buffalo Bulls in their first MAC game of the season. Buffalo is 1-1 on the year, beating Towson, 74-65, and losing to Army, 78-74. We split with the Bulls last year, winning 78-77 at their place and losing 88-84 at our place.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN3, according to the athletic department's website. I'm really looking forward to it - it's as big of an early conference game as there can be.
Let's go Falcons! Beat Buffalo!

Buffalo lost to ARMY?!?
OK, did Buffalo get significantly worse, or did Army suddenly get half way decent?

Army is 3-0, but their other wins are against Merchant Marine and Central Connecticut. They'll have another with Florida tomorrow.Diemilkweed wrote:Buffalo lost to ARMY?!?

Probably a game UB should've won - they still have plenty of talent.

They lost to Army last year, too, so I wouldn’t read too much into it in judging how talented Buffalo is. However, it seems that they aren’t gelling early in the season, so we may be catching them at a good time.Diemilkweed wrote:Buffalo lost to ARMY?!?

Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Went to the MAC page to look at standings and stats and was really surprised at how poorly Buffalo is shooting from 3 and the line. Like, truly putrid.
Then went to Buffalo's site to look at individual stats. Graves is WAY down from what i would expect. And their next guy after him - um, Sedu or something? - was also putting up terrible %.
I sincerely hope they figure it out - a couple of weeks from now

Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Should be a decent matchup for us, they are extremely guard-oriented like we are. Our small ball lineups shouldn't put us at a disadvantage. They have one big post, Brock Bertram (6'11") that gets significant minutes everyone else in 6'7" and under. He and Swingle can lean on each other.
Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Big one today. It's really important for us to rebound well and defend the perimeter. This is a solid Buffalo squad coming in here, and we want to win this one to start MAC play off right.

Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
In other MAC games, Ohio is currently leading Cleveland State 90-29!!! That is not a typo. 90-29!!! Ohio went on a 40-0 run and opened the second half by scoring the game's first 35 points in the period. CSU only lost at Toledo by 9 the other day, while Ohio led #8 Illinois with 7 seconds to go the other day. Ohio was picked 2nd behind BG but from what I've seen so far this year, OU is clearly the best team in the MAC.
GO BG!!!
Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Buffalo starting 6'3 Graves, 6'0 Segu, 6'5 Williams, 6'8 Fagan, and 6'11 Bertram. They should have some length and size for us to have to be aware of.
For BG, same starting 5 as normal.
For reference, our size: 5'11 Metheny, 6'2 Fields, 6'4 Turner, 6'6 Plowden, and 6'10 Swingle.
Big one coming up.

Swingle gets points on the first trip down. We'll need him to be good tonight.

Hey Globe - to answer your question from the other night, it appears Swingle can dunk after all. Lol

Re: vs. Buffalo (12/6)
Under 12, Buffalo leads 10-8. Not a whole lot of offense either way so far in this game.
