Follow the comeback win in Athens, our Falcons will head to DeKalb, IL to take on the Northern Illinois Huskies (1-6) on Saturday, January 2 at 6:00pm. The game is set to be broadcast on ESPN3.
NIU has had a rough season this year. Most recently, they lost by 23 at Toledo on December 22. They were picked to finish 10th in the MAC this year, and they've shown that prediction to be mostly true so far. Without Eugene German this year, NIU isn't quite the same.
Still, it's a MAC game on the road, so you can never take an opponent lightly. Time to go on the road and get a win.
Go Falcons - Beat NIU!

At the Under-16, NIU leads 6-5. Slow start for both teams on offense.
Side note: This black court is awful on TV. Woof.

Under-12, NIU leads 11-9. Really not a lot of action offensively on either end so far.

Under-8, BG leads 13-11. A little better in that stretch, but this has been a pretty weak performance so far.
All it's going to take is one run either way to win this game, at this point.

Fields, Metheny, Plowden, Diggs and Turner?

Justin Turner just pulled up with a leg injury. Looks like he stumbled reaching for the ball in transition. Might've been a hammy, just by my guess on first view. He was able to hobble over to the bench. Certainly worth monitoring.

JTurner is walking it off behind the bench.

We aren't making the extra/smart pass today, and it's leading to a lot of ugly shots.
If Trey Diggs is open in the corner, you get him the ball. Usually we do, but that isn't the case so far today.

Juice went to the locker room early, but he jogged through the tunnel, so that's hopefully a good sign. I'd like to see him back in the 2nd half if he's able to go.

HALF: BG leads, 23-18.
Not a good first half offensively, but we'll take the lead into the half regardless. Need to be a lot better in the last 20 minutes to win this one.
Let's go, boys.

Turner actually got hurt because the ref tripped him up when they were running down the court. Of all things, I swear. It looked like an ankle injury. Hopefully he’s okay because this would be a ridiculous way to suffer an injury.
