@ Miami (1/21)

It’s time to bounce back.

Our Falcons (10-4, 6-2 MAC) now quickly turn around after their last outing and head to Oxford to take on the Miami Redhawks (5-4, 2-2 MAC) on Thursday, January 21 at 5:30pm. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Miami enters off a 10-point win over Ball State on Tuesday night. That was a big result for them. They have a solid squad that I respect - but this is the exact type of game we can’t afford to lose if we hope to accomplish our goals this year. There are excuses to be made, but we can’t worry about that. This needs to be a get-right game for us, where we work out our issues by playing tough defense and efficient on offense and come home with the W.

Go Falcons - Beat Miami!

Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I'm excited for this game. I think we come out hungry on the road and take it to this Miami team. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the seniors are going to take the past few games personally and put on a show tonight.

Juice is 15 points from passing Keith McLeod for 2nd on the career scoring list. Here's hoping he hits that tonight and sets his sight on #1 Anthony Stacey - whom he trails by just 57 points now. There's a very solid chance he catches him in the next 3-4 games, and I think it would be awesome if he could do it at home, perhaps even against Toledo next Saturday.

Let's get this W tonight.

Well, I was wrong. Miami has raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first 3 minutes. I hate how we play down to the competition more often than not.

It's 7 minutes into the game, and we're down 18-4.

That's right, 4 points in 7 minutes.

This is really, really bad.

And somehow this pathetic offense won’t be an issue with Huger. Glad to see this team wanted to come out focused after looking flat last game. SMH...

It's 21-4 Miami at the 2nd media timeout.

Something needs to be done to fix these slow starts. I don't know if it's a lineup change or a change to the offense we run, but it's unacceptable. I'm usually patient with this team, but it's clear we've got some major issues.

It's the same s**t every effing year. We're supposed to be the best in the MAC and we have the talent to be, but we'll go 5-6 games with zero ability to score. Maybe if we ever actually designed and ran an offense instead of saying "our offense starts with our defense" .

Oh our defense is hot garbage right now too

BG is playing a little harder now. Still not doing much defensively, but the lead is down to 25-15 with 9 to play in the first half.

If we don't put ourselves in a 21-4 hole, it's amazing what we can do. I hate how slow we start every single game.

Huger’s biggest problem is he’s incredibly stubborn. We currently don’t have the players to play the style he wants. Swingle should never see the floor in this league. Metheny should come off the bench. Pay attention to our to our +- , energy and movement with our starting lineup. He loves digging a hole then putting in our best players. Metheny flashes star qualities but he’s not quite ready.

Modern basketball is about length and athleticism.

We don't defend the perimeter well in any way. I mean wow, it's awful. I could get 15 a game standing in the corner on this defense, and I haven't shot a basketball in like 3 years.

We have some serious adjustments to make. Everything we want to do this season is still in front of us, but we're making it so hard on ourselves.

4 to play in the first half, Miami is up 39-27.

Trey Diggs with an and-one free throw opportunity out of the break.
