Following a third consecutive loss, our Falcons (10-5, 6-3 MAC) will head to Kent State (7-6, 4-3 MAC) on Wednesday, January 27 at 5:00pm to play a game that was originally scheduled for the end of December, which was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the KSU program. At the current time, I don't know if the game will be broadcast anywhere - we'll see, and I'll try to post here with an update if I see anything.
The Flashes have won 4 of their last 5, with 2 of their 3 losses in MAC play being against Toledo, and both were 2-point losses. So, it appears this team is better than their record would suggest.
Kent State is going to be a tough test for us, but after losing 2 in a row, this BG team needs to find a way to get a win here, no matter the cost. If we have any hope of getting back into league contention, we need to go on the road and steal a win, setting up a monumental contest with 1st-place Toledo on Saturday at the Stroh. I hope our guys are ready.
Go Falcons - Beat Kent State!

We lost 3 of 4 not 4 in a row.
I won't be watching. That time is stupid and this team is awful to watch.

Just came here to post this. Very interesting. I wonder what the new 2nd unit will look like. I think Fields could give us a nice defensive spark off the bench.

First media timeout, it's tied 7-7. I like the energy so far, and Turner is leading the way with 5 of our 7 points.
An objectively awful blocking foul gave them 3 points, otherwise we jumped out to an early lead.
Going to be a grind.

I just learned that Caleb Fields is out for today's game with an injury. That could be a factor moving forward. Hoping Diggs gives us some quality minutes without Jojo out there.

Another pretty garbage block call gives Kent another 3 points.
I'm not sure what Plowden/Diggs have done wrong on either of those plays. Their feet are set, hands are straight up, and they're outside the restricted area. Not sure what more you can ask of them.

Cam Young with an AWESOME block, and now Fulcher is down on the floor, though he gets up quick after being tended to and walks off on his own. Might be a blood situation.

At the 2nd media timeout, we're tied at 13.

Under-4 in the first half, Kent leads 33-28. Washington to the line for 2 out of the media timeout.
This Pippen kid on the other team is kinda going off right now. We are having a tough time defending his mid-range shot. Need to get things figured out defensively, in that regard.

Is Swingle out with an injury, too? Or just on the bench. Pretty weird to start every game and then not appear in the first half.

...and then Metheny takes an elbow to the face and is called for a foul.
Not sure what these officials are watching today, honestly.

HALFTIME: BG leads, 43-41.
It's been a battle, but a couple of guys have provided a nice spark for this team. Washington with 5, Chandler Turner with 5, Justin Turner with 9, and Josiah Fulcher is the high scorer for both teams so far with 12 points on 5/5 shooting from the floor.
We have a fight to the finish and an opportunity to steal a MAC win on the road. I really hope to see us give another strong performance in the 2nd half.
