Just finishing watching Ohio win its 7th MAC Basketball Tournament. GD man, I'd give my left nut just to win 1. But it also showed why their program is head and shoulders above anything BG has done in the past 50 years. They win. Period. They just mowed through the #1, #2 and #3 seeds and were never threatened. They also did it without senior stars, as Preston and BVP are juniors. They also did it with a coach in his second year. In his second year they're cutting down the nets. Ohio has won games in the NCAA Tournament because they get a chance to showcase their program and players by getting there by winning the MAC Tournament. Something BG has never done. Sure we might beat them in the regular season. But their program miles ahead of us in postseason play because of their ability and success come March. And that my friends is why their at the top of the MAC in that category, and BG is at the other end of the spectrum. BG is nowhere near Ohio. We're in the same conference, but they in a completely different class, and it's not even close.

I'll be curious to see where they're seeded. Kinda glad to see them take the bid because, for my money, Preston is the best player the conference so they might have the best shot of anybody to win a game in the dance.

BG transfer Nelly Cummings just clinched a tourney birth with Colgate. Was sad to see him leave. Seemed like a really nice kid.

The Falcons were a combined 3-0 versus Ohio and Buffalo (the championship game participants). Just goes to show that this tournament was there for the taking if we could have played 3 solid games.

OU has a chance against a COVID Virginia team. I’ll be curious if Virginia has a full team.

Yes, Bowling Green was 3-0 vs those teams, but context matters. Preston did not play for Ohio, and Mballa did not play in game 1 vs Buffalo. Bowling Green was never really that close. Ohio knew what the prize was, and got themselves healthy and ready for that.
