Already been a flurry of transfer activity in the MAC. It looks like the teams involved so far are those that had no post season action. The transfers are led by two senior guards who were All-MAC. Ball State is losing 2nd Teamer and 2nd leading team scorer El Amin and Kent is losing its 3rd teamer Nuga who averaged 17.8 this past season. Kent also losing bottom of the barrel players Jordon and Bennet, Akron losing low end benchers Marshall and Reece. WMU with Sr. 7 PPG scorer Cruz, and 2.0 Jr. Emilien, N. Illinois losing low scorers Lee and Scott, Miami with Brewer a Jr at 1.6, and EMU with 3 players including 13.7 PPG Jr McBride, Soph James, and RJr Gibson. Likely more to come as the remainder of the league officially ends their respective seasons.

On the other end of the spectrum, All-MAC players Ohio's Jason Preston (the best player in the MAC) and BVP are only juniors and word on the street is they are both expected back. If so, no one is touching them in the MAC next year. Wilson may also exercise the free year next season too. They will be majorly loaded next year. Plus, don't forget they get an additional year if they want after that. Ohio arrived a year early as next season was supposed to be their year to the top. This was supposed to be BG's year (insert joke here). Instead Ohio's came this year and man what a time to come too. It's frightening how good they played in the MAC Tournament, and the thought of two more years with those guys in Athens is scary. The rest of the MAC needs to hope and pray that Preston turns pro. Otherwise, it's game over.

Preston is crazy good and with his size/skill combo I actually think he might be the next MAC player drafted into the NBA. No idea if he would leave a year early for it though.

Other hope for rest of the MAC is a tournament run this year and a big money comes calling for Jeff Boals. Had a MAC Tournament been played in 2020, Ohio would have been fully capable of a run last year. We saw how well coached they were when they played at BG earlier that year. BG probably could have had Boals twice after Orr.

Toledo has two in the portal. Komagum and Acunzo. Acunzo was a pretty solid role player for them and likely to be a starter next season.

Thought I saw article that said Toledo is going to lose 3 kids, all in 6’9”, 6’ 10” range but no real solid stats to speak of.

I wouldn't be surprised if Anyone left. The program isn't going in a good direction

We're in the same place as football where I'm not even sure there's anybody that we'd be sad about losing at this point...

Not a MAC transfer, but Luke Frazier from Dayton has entered the portal. BG recruited him pretty hard but he went to UD and didn't end up getting much playing time this year, and UD has a top 15 class coming in next year. Could see him coming to the MAC if he was looking to stay close to home.

I would not want to lose any of our freshmen or Kula.

For sure. I think all three freshman showed big-time potential and they didn't even have a full workout/practice period before the season. I also think Chandler Turner finally started putting things together throughout the year.
Has anyone heard anything on Davin Ziegler? Just curious where he might end up. One of the better physical talents I can think of that has come to BG but couldn't put it together between his ears.

As far as I know, he's still enrolled at BG.
