@ Western Michigan (1/22)

Post by mbenecke »

There’s another quick turnaround, so we turn the page.

On Saturday, January 22, our Falcons (9-9) head to Kalamazoo to take on the Western Michigan Broncos (4-13). The game will begin at 2:00pm, and it’ll be broadcast on ESPN3.

WMU is winless in MAC play, so it’s someone we should be able to take advantage of, but they played Akron within 1 possession on the road, so who knows?

Season is on the line. These guys have to do something about it. Go Falcons.

I’m yet to start watching, but I see BG is up 15-6 and Daeqwon already has 11 at the first media timeout.

If this team could play any kind of defense they would be ok.

Maybe we just have to come to grips with the fact this team is awful. How many more years are we stuck with this coach?

2 after this year for the full contract.

We're not good and we're right on pace to continue the streak of allowing 80+ points. Made some really bad passes so far on the perimeter. I'm afraid if we lose this all the wheels will fall off

Only caught the past 5-6 mins or so of the half. Nice to see some decent offensive ball movement (at least a helluva lot more than Akron game), but man we still don't defend at all. Transition was especially awful as they were basically able to run out and get good looks on nearly every non-basket possession we had (again in the minutes I was watching).

Matiss has value on offense, but man when he's out there it's yet another dude that just simply can not defend anything. Of course I don't think O'Neal is worth crap on defense either because he's either vastly out athletic-ed, or undersized against nearly everybody we play. Since I didn't see Reece I'll just assume he got 2 fouls and of course we are the one team in D1 that is banned from playing players with 2 fouls until the 2nd half starts.

I have a hunch Bill Frack would prefer to put his money towards buying out this crap coach 2 years early than whatever the hell it is they've been spending it on...

Huger can recruit so I assume he will find another job then we won't have to pay a full buyout.

Hopefully we find a magic turnaround. I don't see any evidence of it even against the last place team though

Refs really seem to have something against Joe Reece in every game. That third foul was absolutely nothing.

And of course he then gets yanked from the game, wrecking any chance we had of playing defense, and then WMU immediately hits a three.

The coach is awful but I’m also starting to believe this roster is garbage outside of Plowden. They do a lot is stupid s**t and hero ball. Basketball IQ is very low as a group.
