The proof is in the pudding for BG

....and that is, we're just not a very good team. We're at the halfway point in the MAC schedule and we're 4-6 and tied for 7th place. The line has been drawn in the MAC standings of the haves and have nots, and BG is clearly a have not. In fact, it's crystal clear at this point. BG has lost to each of teams that are in 1st-6th place in the MAC standings (Toledo, Ohio, Akron, Kent State, Ball State & Buffalo), and has only beaten teams that are 9th-12th in the standings (EMU, Miami, NIU & WMU). The only team BG hasn't played yet is CMU (which is tied with BG in 7th place) and that game is up next. The fact there isn't a single outlier game through 10 contests really sums up that fact that we're right where we should be. There are two teams that are CLEARLY head and shoulders about the rest of the MAC, and that is Toledo and Ohio, and there's no question about it. On our best days, it's possible we can compete with the group of Akron, Kent State, Ball State and Buffalo, but we lost all of those games. The Ball State loss was a killer and is still a big thorn in our side right now. I'd like to think BG is better than CMU, but we'll find out for sure in a few days. The bottom line is - BG is going to have to battle to make the MAC Tournament, and if we're in the running, we better hope like hell we finish no lower than the 6th seed, which is going to be a big challenge for this team. Because Toledo and Ohio are going to be the #1 & #2 seeds in the MAC Tournament (in either order) and if BG doesn't get above the 7th or 8th seed in the MAC, our hopes at a MAC Tournament Championship (HA!!! Yeah I know, just humor me for a second) will come crashing down on the opening day.

Only 7 games left in the MAC regular season, and BG is still winless against the Top-7 teams in the standings. The Falcons also have a whopping 1 win vs the former MAC East division teams.

In a few years this will go down as one of the most tone deaf laughable moments in BGSU athletics history. After finishing 6th and losing in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament. BG was a unanimous favorite to win the MAC. Only Huger and Moosbrugger believed these “rumors”.
