If we can't win it, they better not either.
GREAT day to be a Falcon.

The only joy I get in hoops is that UT continues to be as awful in the tournament as we are. Thank goodness, I really thought this was the year they were gonna make me sad.

As a fan of the MAC I always want to see our best team represented in the NCAA tournament but I guess it’s also important to have a team that is playing their best ball at this time of the year too. I just thought Toledo was the kind of team that could make a run. Apparently they weren’t.

Anyone see the Kent State video? Four guys disciplined for the championship game. Idiots.

Sincere Carry is a very serious cat. I wish we had him.

To be fair, it was a snapchat video, and the guys were just singing along to a song. There was no reason to suspend anyone for a championship game over a little trash talk.
Senderoff could've made them run after walkthroughs this morning and that would've been more than enough. The MAC overstepped here.

I think it really stemmed back to them calling out a specific player. They referenced Ali Ali. I think it was harsh but they gotta know better.

That’s fair. Maybe it was a little too personal.
Definitely would’ve been embarrassed if a BG player or players had done something like that - just think kids make mistakes sometimes and think taking a once in a lifetime opportunity away from them for a momentary lapse in judgement in a celebratory locker room when it comes to a huge rivalry is somewhat harsh.

I don't like to play the race card frivolously, but whenever I see harsh punishments for off the court, my mind immediately thinks racism.
Either way, there are hundred more constructive ways the MAC could havehandlesd this situation than tarnishing its championship and smashing a kids career.
Just for the record, I will say that the mj enforcement in pro sports and the Olympics is nothing other than racism. This is a hill I'll die on.

....and what jumps out is Tod Kowalczyk claiming this to be his best team at Toledo. Losing huge on home court in front of a full house makes make them and the MAC look extremely weak.

Having watched a lot of MAC hoops this year here is what I know/believe of this season:
Toledo was the best team. They had length/athleticism all over their top 5, although not a ton of depth. Could score in a variety of ways and seemed good defensively as well. But they didn't have anybody that looked to me like a classic MAC POY type player.
The entire MAC didn't really have a player that scares me. Carry probably deserved PoY, but I'm not sure where I'd stack him on the historical MAC PoY winners. The big thing is, none of the teams did anything OOC. It was either teams like us playing absolute dogshit OOC schedules to pick up some wins, or teams that just went out and lost, often times to bad schedules as well.
Until this conference dedicates itself to basketball this is what we get. We do nothing to help conference members schedule. No conference challenge tournaments, etc. We simply must come up with a way to get the teams in this conference to A) schedule better OOC, and B) something that can allow some of those games to be home games.
I know scheduling in the MAC is always a challenge. I know every coach that comes through here complains that nobody will play us. In my mind the Jans schedule was what I want to see from not just BG, but most of the MAC. Then, if you've got a great team, do like UB did in their great year and go pick up some even bigger games. The way I see it there is no reason why we're not loading up on teams from the A10, AAC, Horizon, & CUSA. I LOVE playing those games against Oakland and similar, but for Oakland to be your premier home game, and only "winnable" worthwhile OOC game? That's brutal.
