I’m all for players being able to do whatever is best for them. This is their life, it’s up to them to maximize it.
That said, this kind of movement is NOT sustainable, and I’m becoming increasingly worried that the transfer portal is going to kill college athletics on this level. If you don’t play, you transfer. If you’re good, you transfer. It’s hard to build a program and keep guys invested at this level. Just difficult to accept, for me.

We now have de facto free agency in college athletics. Schools that don't adapt to it are going to become permanent losers.

Develop a minimal NIL program...guys you like and want to keep get a few extra bucks to stay.
Honestly....99% of the players in the MAC would be best served by staying put , working hard and getting their degree. Maybe that gets them a shot in the G league or overseas....that's the realistic ceiling for these guys

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

BGSU develop an NIL program? They can't even figure out how to spend generous donations correctly, a functional NIL program is way beyond these guys.

I agree but the big programs always have gaps and are going to sell the exposure card providing hope for much more. How can we provide something the big schools don’t, that’s the million dollar question.Flipper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 9:31 am Develop a minimal NIL program...guys you like and want to keep get a few extra bucks to stay.
