Good article about incoming freshman Lightfoot. Sounds like he's going to be our lead guard pretty quickly. I don't watch scouting videos or follow HS recruiting much, but here's to hoping he's another Justin Turner caliber player. We know Huger's "system" requires somebody capable of being the primary creator/ISO guy on most possessions, and that's something this team sorely lacked this past year.

The article states that Lightfoot is the lone freshman signee. Is Jamai Felt not considered a freshman?

Nice article. Sad part is I doubt he will be here long with this transfer portal. How can you keep kids happy and not looking for the next best thing? If lifhtdoot is what they make him out to be I hope he stays. Interested to see how this impacts metheny

Given Lightfoot's size, I can't see Matheny being the guard next to him. It almost has to be Curtis as the second guard, and wouldn't be surprised if Fulcher is out there with them in 3G lineups. If this kid is the best playmaker on the team (as he seems to be touted in this article) you almost have to figure Matheny goes to the bench in the hopes of being the 6th man, first guard off the bench type.

Huger seems to think Lightfoot will play some good defense, but I don't want 5'11 & 6'0 guards playing together for too many minutes against most teams. We know Matheny isn't a good defender, and no matter how good Lightfoot proves to be he'll always struggle against bigger guards (and I wouldn't be shocked at all if his 6'0 size shrinks when he gets to campus).

Technically it is not wrong. The word used is "signee" and Felt is committed but not yet signed to a LOI. That period opens soon.

Felt signed his LOI today per BGSU Twitter account. Now list him at 6'9", and hype a 20/12 average with 4 blocks per game. Lot of excitement around the 2 freshmen

Not always a lock, but I honestly click links on Twitter and then hit the X to make it stop loading once the text is up and it typically works for me. Kinda gotta be good at timing that, and typically only works on my phone as opposed to my laptop. Could be a glitch, could be that I’m a tech loophole genius. Lol

I've had luck with it both PC and my phone. In fact that's why the link I included in the initial post is actually linked through twitter.

IF you go to the Blade's site directly it hammers with paywall stuff. Incognito tabs USED to get you through that, but I don't think it works anymore. And of course I just tested the link in my post up top on my laptop here and it's not working now, paywall with no "X" to get out of it.

Best bet is to always just go to the Twitter feed of the author and click there. That typically does get you through it. Like mbenecke said, maybe more reliably on mobile.

When on my laptop, I use the copy/paste trick. This does not work on mobile devices. You have to move fast...

1) Open the link
2) As soon as the page loads, type Ctrl-A then Ctrl-C - this will do a Select All/Copy (I hold the Ctrl key down then quickly type A/C)
3) Open Word and type Ctrl-V or Edit/Paste
4) Enjoy "paywalled" content at your leisure

If you're not quick enough on step 2, press F5 which will reload the page. Be ready!

I have had 100% success with this method over the years. This is a true "hack" and I understand it's not for everyone but I thought I'd throw it out there.

You can access the Blade via a one day pass for $1.

FYI - it also works for google docs. Just tried it :)

That article has us with a 2ingle 3 star signee and the 2nd best class in the MAC. And has OU with 4 recruits, three of them as 3 stars.

We get 3 star recruits like once over 4 or 5 years. They got 3 in 1 season.

Maybe that’s because our coach can’t recruit worth a damn and the only good get we’ve had came from a coach that’s at a Toledo high school now.
