It has Etim listed as 6;9" and 210. I thought he was 6'8" and under 200 last year. If I am remembering that correctly, these are good signs.

Yeah, Richaun Holmes was 6-8 when he arrived and is all of 6-10 now.

Is this a taller team than we've seen in a while? It seems like we always kind of had a one slow big man, one athletic 6'7-6'8 guy, and then a bunch of people in the 6'2-6'5 range. It seems like there are a ton of guys who are 6'9"+ on this roster, with more than one having above average athleticism*.

*Not saying this translates to talent or victories, just pointing out a difference in past rosters.

It's definitely different from anything we've had in a hot minute. Most of the guys over 6'7" in the history of the program have been pretty slow. That was part of what made having Joe Reece around last year such a good change.

Hell, we've had precious few bigs who could play, and even fewer 6'9" or taller. Most took a couple years to get there.

Diarra, 6-11
Felt, 6-9
Etim, 6-9
Towns, 6-9
Agee, 6-8
O'Neal, 6-7
Turner, 6-7

I think that this is the tallest BG team that I've ever seen. I know that we had a lot of height in the early 70's, but I don't recall those rosters in detail because, at that point, I was still a little stinker.

We still had some height mid-late 70's with Midday and Schmidt and some backups. But I don't recall seeing anything like this amount of 6'7" or taller guys since then. We've had more than one guy over 6'10" at the same time in the past in the 80's. I don't recall ever seeing 4 guys at 6'9" or taller before though

1974-75 team had 6'7" Corny Cash, 6'9" Skip Howard, Mark Cartwright 6'11", Frosh Ron Hammye 6'10", and Andre Richardson 6'8". At the time that was a big MAC team and also had 3 more players listed at 6'5".

Down to 285 preseason. Very likely picked 9th, 10th or worse in the MAC. No program has trended faster toward the toilet while the administration and coaching staff still believes they are doing a good job. No need to change anything up after last year I guess. Bob Moosbrugger, Con Man Kit Hughes & circus continues.

Even if we have a decent year, it'll be hard to crack 200 with our lousy schedule.

The scarier part is both Central Michigan and Miami have coaches who I would guess will get more out of less. Central Michigan certainly did last year. If Northern Illinois is improved, a last place finish is certainly possible. Meanwhile, BGSU is out promoting from within. The Elssaser years will be something to look back on.

I like the fact they're making a walk on the banner splash ad on the website encouraging us to all purchase tickets (which I'm still waffling on). Yeah, I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the fact his dad is in the dept.

Maybe since his dad works for the department he was forced to do it when all others declined when NIL money wasn’t included. That’s only reason I could imagine a walk on getting the spot.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

To be honest, this team doesn’t have a lot of returning star power, so I figured they simply chose to use the local kid to try to market to the townies.
