vs. Miami

Post by BGorDeath »

Beat Miami tonight. Leon scored many points. Miami had a large big man. He jiggled when he jumped. Dogs performed at halftime. Dance team did, too. Dogs were more entertaining.

Yeah, I was gonna start a thread but didn't feel like it. But I'll chime in just so some asshats don't come by later and accuse us of only posting when the team plays like s**t.

Miami isn't very good but right from the jump it was clear Ayers was in and was going to dominate. He was great. Welcome back Matheny, his jumper has been smooth much if this year and when he's a shot maker were a much better team (duh)

Big guy for Miami is hilarious. He's skilled but he looks like the freshman out of shape version of Otis Polk decided to go on a donut and pizza bender before sophomore yr rather than try to get in better shape. Officials clearly had zero clue how to officiate him or the guys defending him.

Miami sucks but a wire to wire double digit victory against a conference foe is always nice.

You’d rather win than lose this type of game, but I’m not impressed when we beat up on 7-11 teams.

I need to see us beat an Akron, Toledo, Kent, or Ball State.

Solid win for the Falcons. Miami wasn't very good they couldn't hit a shot from behind the arc and struggled to defend the perimeter. Made it an easy night for Ayers driving and our offensive "style".

Miami wasn't good but for almost the entirety of the second half the game wasn't in doubt. Got a bit nervous when we took our foot off the gas and Miami cut the 20 point lead to 9 but we quickly regained control. Before the intentional fouling we had about 10 more fouls on us and I'll just say I didn't get it with us being the more aggressive team. Fantastic free throw shooting was a nice change and the defense was at least decent most of the game.

Dog show was fun and they've had a few good halftime performances this year.

One odd note at the 8 minute media timeout etim picked up his third foul and as the players were standing up Agee said "He has 4 fouls he has to sit on the bench he can't play anymore." I will say the bigs always seem VERY close on the bench and there was a lot of foul trouble for us and some for Miami so I'm not 100% sure what he was referencing. I know a couple games ago he didn't play the last 9? minutes of a game after getting 4 fouls. Curtis did play some minutes in the first half with 2 fouls after getting both within 5 seconds of him playing

I don't think that's happening. For us it's a race to get into Cleveland which is a low bar that we might not achieve. Next game at cmu will be a big test for that as the 5 games after look tough with Kent, toledo, niu (looking better), and ball x2. Big few weeks coming up

Miami is having a rough go of it on the Men’s side the last few years. They may be the one of few programs in the MAC who has been worse than BG in the last 15 years.
